Hey, All-

After a lot of cleaning and sandblasting, I finally got a fresh coat of paint on the K-member from my 66 Charger.

Also, I've got the lower control arms in the same condition. One question I have: Inside the rotating assembly (that part puts the load on the torsion bar), there appears to be a sleeve of some sort. This is the area that will accept the bushing once reassembled and is opposite of the torsion bar hex socket. That sleeve (hopefully you can see it in the photo) stays in the assembly, correct? I guess I will find out when I put in the new bushings.

Anyway, I've made some progress and will hopefully be putting the front end back together soon.

FYI: I used Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black on these pieces. I think they look pretty good.

I'm not 100% sure for your year, the after market bushings normally require you to reuse your old sleeve but the OEM type come with a new sleeve. So to answer your question yes and no ;)

Yup, if you use the stock type bushing, that sleeve has to come out....and a hint when you go back together with everything new....do not tighten up all the bushings until the weight of the car is on them or at ride height.
