fried wire

hi i have a 73 charger i fried a wire that goes from the starter to the bat. the cause was more an likely the starter relay so i replaced the relay an the wire an the starter an now all i get is a clicking sound from the relay i took the wire from the relay to the starter a put in a diff. wire to see if that wire was bad an it still just clicked im not sure what else it could be other then the wires under the dash look fine. any ideas on what it might be. ty for the help

Does the car have an oem AMP gauge in the dash??

check block to battery ground

yes it has a oem amp gauge

Check battery voltage. Now voltage at relay, from ignition switch wire to battery ground when key is in start, if lower it's ignition switch circuit or bad relay. Now voltage same spot on relay to engine block when key is in start, if lower it's block to frame ground. Good Luck.

could it be that my Electronic Ignition Module

The way I read your first post is that it is clicking and engine is not turning over. If it is turning over and clicking your in a whole other area of diagnosis. Can you clarify and answer other questions asked? This would help us.

the block battery ground is good an the block to frame is good
yes it is clicking an not turnin over i had the bat. checked an its good no dead cells an holdin a charge

Check voltage at relay coil with key in start position and I think you'll get your answer.

well figured out that i can start the car the a screw driver so i guess what im goin to do is put a push button in an start the car that way think that its the ignition switch is shot

Attaboy, I had completely forgotten about the old screw driver trick. Use to do that on my old Furd truck when I wasn't old.

lol well i figure since its hard enough to fine parts at a reasonable price if u can fined the parts that is a push button start is goin to have to do for now

i do have another problem with my horn is my turn signal but also is my signal still works as a signal but i figure that just cause its shortin out when i put the gt wheel on but thats anther prob later on lol
