The front disc brakes (standard by '74 from what I understand) were swapped off my 74 'Runner before I got it - in their place are HUGE drums.

They have the numbers on them, driver's side L3(3?)924-R W-2, pass. side L35871 AA MWY 1

They do not have fins but do have the spring around the outside.

Shoes measure 3", drums measure 11" inside. Runner hasn't run in 20 years, they look good but I don't have any kind of road test on them.

Having trouble bring up the right info with searches...

Questions are - what year range are they, what are they off of... should I just run them as is or swap them out for the disc setup off a 78 Magnum?

Thanks very much in advance, all advice & info is much appreciated!

i have the exact same drums on my 70 RR...3 x 11's. im not sure where the stopped putting those on cars but now ya know its at least to 1970

11" x 3" Brake Drums

11" x 3" Brake Drums -- were very standard on All Chryslers and All BIG BLOCK Dodges and Plymouths from 1963 - 1972 -- different set ups -- 1963 - 1969 and 1970 - 1972, but the same 11" x 3" dimension...

Of course keep in mind, that back then, there also WERE Disc Brakes being introduced in the "primitive" stage -- the ol' bulky 4 piston caliper -- as early as '65 on "A" Body!, '66 on "B" Body, and "66 on "C" Body...

If you are happy with your braking system -- and it stops on a dime and gives you a nickel change... then maybe leave it alone .... at least, for now.. It is sufficient and was for eons.....of course, all your new-fangled disc brake fanatics are goint to tell you to swap instantly.....

If you need any help, always best to simply call me --

i have a front disc conversion on my 65 coronet and it ain't worth two dead flies. i have the stock 11" power drums on my 69 coronet and you couldn't put a gun up to my head get me to take them off.

Am I facing any issues I don't know about because the car was originally non-power disc/drum and now has front drums on it from some other year?

I'm fine with drums, have them on my Dart. But is this era B ok with these parts from an earlier car?
