I am contemplating doing some kind of FI on the wife's Road Runner. The car has been modified so it's not original. I would just like to make it more user friendly.
Plus, I like to engineer things and make them work. Plus, I'm cheap. Not spending thousands on a kit. Looking at scrounging parts from junkyard, etc. It will be multi-port too.

I converted a 340 to MPI with Dakota ecm, etc. I am thinking I could use something similar with a little bigger injector?

Thoughts or ideas welcomed.

p.s. I didn't know where's the best place to post this question.:glasses10:

I can't help ya, but this sure sounds interesting as hell.

The biggest challenge with get any late model factory efi to work on anything else is providing the same cam and crank signals. The cheapest and most abundant would be EFI from an LS1 motor. ATI makes a balancer shell with a 24 tooth format. Then you just have to figure out the cam sensor. An altered magnetic pickup distributor could provide your cam signal. I was working on something similar converter to a coil on plug EFI setup but abandoned it to go a different route. I am not a patient man.

I cheated and placed an order for an edelbrock kit. If you need any hands info from that don't hesitate to pm me

Why not use a Fast 2.0?

I'm not sure how that company is regarded on this forum, but a friend of mine swears that they are worse than Comcast to deal with, the product is too sensitive and he's not been able to get it working during the 18 months he's had it

Well if you are technically savy and you want to tink, mega squirt is a great option. It will take any magnetic crank signal And cam signal.

Yes, mega squirt is a great option if you want to build it yourself. I've had it on my audi quattro for a while, and if you're into that sort of things - there's a zillion things to tinker with

I was thinking about taking the guts out of a 92ish magnum dist. and putting them in the 440 dist. Using the wiring etc from the dodge truck to run it. All I should have to do is either a crank trigger, (on front), or have a local guy that has machine shop, cut notches in my flywheel for the crank sensor. Then, I would think that all I need is a little bigger injector for the C.I. increase. All junkyard parts and cheap or free if you're buddy has a roached out Dakota layin around. lol Already have the modified holley carb into a throttle body with the tps and iac in it.
BTW, the 340 runs mint with this set up.

Cheater!! LOL

Main reason I was aiming for the edelbrock was the new intake plenum which I've had my eyes on since it was released. I think it will go really well with the Procharger blower that was left after my Dodge Magnum build lol.
