*!~>#^!! fuel pump push rod fell into oil pan!

A) How the hell did the pushrod even get into the oil pan since it is longer than the gap between the bore and outside of the engine
Unless the fuel eccentric on the cam is toast and completely mutilated....and then we are in for a major tear down.

Must be some horrific damage for the push rod to end up in the pan.

I removed the push rod had no damage...it fell in the plan as I was reinstalling it.

When the new one comes. Put some grease on it before assembly. Will hold it in place and make the pump install a whole let easier. Dont foget to put that pipe plug back in before installing the pump.

Were those Chrysler engineers smart or what? Thanks for the video. Takes away all conjecture...

If Chrysler thought you should have a 3-1/4" X .435" iron bar floating around in your oil pan, they would have installed one in every engine at the factory.

Not exactly the perfect solution, however you could order strong magnets from place called dinkie. Search magnet oil drain plugs. And place on deepest part of oil pan where its likely to be. May find its way to magnet and stay there.
