Fuel pump recommendation

For my new motor build, which is roughly 500ci, what mechanical fuel pump should I use? I already purchased the Mopar Performance Hemi fuel pump thinking that would be enough, but I see that Holley and Edelbrock have better fuel pumps and that support up to 600hp motors. Would the Holley or Edy be the better alternative to the Hemi pump? Also keeping the Six Pack on the new motor.

Assuming I should also have an electric pump at the back for insurance? The car is 99% a street car.

highly recommend clay smith pump, i have one on my 505, and propwash has one on his 512

the edelbrock and mopar street hemi are both carters. the edelbrock has some mods but not $50 worth. neither the edelbrock and carter 6903 (basically the same pump) will support 600hp. i seriously doubt the holley will either. carter does make a high pressure pump, 4862, that i've done some testing with and the one i have is a real gusher. it'll pump a gallon in 30seconds at 9psi (9psi will need to be regulated. use a regulator with a large flow orifice. not one of those cheapie $25 ones), will fit to the block with no mods. the clay smith is a large 6 valve pump similar to the old nascar stuff. down side to it is it won't fit the block without some careful mods and who needs 14psi. as far as pump insurance goes; the mechanical is the insurance for electric failure. i don't care for electrics if a lot of driving is planned.

They all come from the same Chinese factory. make sure you have adequate zinc in the oil to protect the pushrod and cam lobe from wear and tear.

Sure do.......No fuel supply issues, but like lew mentioned takes some shaving down to fit. Regulator is a must.
