Fusible links VS inline fuses

I don't have power windows but I have considered installing them. I'd use a new aftermarket set like Dennis or Darius have used.
I didn't follow the MAD bypass schematic to the letter.

They "looped" the ammeter wiring. I used a 10g wire to power the interior and left off the "red wire".

The sizing of the fuse is not determined by the alternator current rating, but by the Current rating of the wiring. The fuse it there to protect the wiring from burning up if something shorts out.
The Slow Blow Mega-Fuse and mini-ANL fuse make good replacements for fusible links.
If you look at the fuse specs, there is a chart showing how long the fuse will supply power at different currents when at and above the rated current.

But your wiring had better be sized for you alternator as I stated previously.... If your running a 70 amp alternator and your wiring is rated for 40 amps you've got a problem...

Depending on which chart your using a short (3-4 ft) run of 10 ga wire is rated between 75 & 85 amps

I looked at the Amazon site, and those fuses are metric. Some of the complaints were that they fit to loose in the fuse block. I contacted a company about Bussman glass fuses. I am waiting for their reply.

I found the correct Bussman fuses on Amazon. They came in a kit plus the puller/tester. Only drawback is : be careful how you open the package. I put them in old medicine bottles, and labelled the outside. Bussman is owned by Eaton. Everybody knows that.
