Not that I already didn't know, but it turns out they made it all up about the firebird prototypes that have been in the news. Hot Rod's Thom Taylor uncovered the elaborate lie, constructed around the first two "bread and butter" firebirds that rolled off the GM assembly line.

Here is the article:
http://www.hotrod.com/news/did_fast_n_loud_make_this_up/

I originally heard this on FABO and I feel the need to give credit were credit is due.
here is the thread, it is already two pages long: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=275019

I do watch the show sometimes, but I would never let those jokers touch any of my cars.
I'm sure the bullshit was to make the show interesting, but like always it will come back to bite you in the ***.

Saw him in Reno running his hands through his greasy hair and blaming others like he does in the show.

That's "not so" reality tv for you!

Saw him in Reno running his hands through his greasy hair and blaming others like he does in the show.

I guess I must be watching a different show. I don't recall seeing Richard blaming others for stuff.
IMO Fast & Loud is one of the better shows out there, along with Counting Cars. To me at least, they seem "honest" in the sense that there isn't a lot of dramatic bullcrap like there is on other shows.

I like Counting Cars...they seemed somewhat realistic but Fast N Loud is based out of or near Las Vegas.. which to me. says a lot, Loud N Clear!!!!!

Fast n loud...texas
Counting cars...las vegas

I LOVE the Count !! No B,S and he deals with his customers not just hit there wallet !!

Love the Count but can't stand *** Monkey, they're builds seam half assed to turn a quick buck and I just don't like his personality either.

Maybe I am confused. Who is the guy with the friend named Dennis with suitcase of cash?

Dennis I think that's Fast N Loud "Gas Monkey" ........ The "Count" is Danny.... the guy on Gas Monkey is I THINK Richard Rawlings......

I watch both shows but I like counting cars better. Danny has a respect for the cars he builds and gas monkey is only wanting to see what kind of profit he can make if any.

Everything is a rush job on tv to roll the cars over.... every time they touch a car it becomes a custom. Chip foose is the worst next to the hoarding show.... a ten year documentary of restoring a car back to stock would be too evolved for the mainstreamers to handle there heads would pop... Tv is for dummys with a life so bland and meek they need to pay monthly payments to saturate themselves with faux reality to keep from killing themselves rather than develop an entertaining life
I use the computer for gaining knowledge and acquiring things.... some use it for games and entertainment never acquiring any thing of value out side the device...

I look at all TV for just entertainment value, almost never for any factual value other than maybe some recorded history. The only thing I hate about reality car shows, and this goes for every last one of them, they drive the market value of junk cars up so high, most regular people can't afford the hobby anymore, not just in buying a car to restore, but parts for them. I see parts on craigs that aren't even restorable being sold for 3 times the cost of a replacement aftermarket piece just because it would be "original" even though it will never see life on another car again. It won't be long before 4 door cars and less desirable but still rear wheel drive v-8 cars will also become over priced, some are already reaching for that, ex; 74-78 4 dr 6 cyl cars.

Thing that gets me on ALOT of the shows is the Amount of filler that go'e into the car's !?!?!?
Wow you mean these days you buld a car by the GALLON ???
OH there shinny and pritty when done but Man do thay weigh a ton or what ?

Wish I could get some publicity (for my business ) FOR FREE like they get!:upside down:

It's all Bull ship!...DVR and splice up what you want to see...I do....
IT IS better than::iamwithstupid:
*Call the Midwife
*The Amazing Race: All-Stars
*Once Upon a Time
...and on and on....

X2 Sonny ! My wife said that she wanted to video my shop and the work we do as she thinks we could get a deal like that. I told her I can't start putting stuff together Half A$$ !

I watch pretty much all the same one's you guys do... Fast & Loud, Counting Cars, Car Chasers, Rods N Wheels, etc.... We have 2 that air here I'm not sure if you guys get.... Restoration Garage and Legendary Motorcar Company

Restoration Garage features a shop in Bradford Ontario Canada that does more of the high end restorations and although there is a little drama around the shop it is usually about the cars which I appreciate

LMC is another local high end restoration facility (DreamCar Garage use to be filmed here) and the show usually focusses on finding a relatively collectible/well documented car and getting it to pristine shape whether for sale or concours. If you guys can find them online you might enjoy them

It's like the 72 stang they fixed up for a 24 hour ebay auction. I watched the auction and it was up to 200k then for some reason went down to 100k then 50k then taken off the auction.Actually it was probley a 12-15k car at best. I think the asian gal on the show got it right. *** MONKEY

LMC rules, that SuperCuda was mean as hell!

I like watching Fast n Loud just for some occasional entertainment on my lunch break. Like Sonny pointed to, it beats Teen Mom, Honey Boo-Boo, and Lizard Lick Towing. But that's not to say I'd ever buy a car from them haha

Don't know if you guys caught that episode where they did the '71 Mustang as a special cooperation with Ebay where the car's auction went live after the episode aired. I checked in on it the next day and the bid was over 200k. $200,000 for a '71 Mustang with a greasy rusty engine bay, surface rust coming through under the doors, a quick paintjob, wheels and tires, and a new intake and carburetor. Wtf?

Edit: '72 Mustang, my bad haha didn't see your post motorhead. Wonder what ended up happening with that auction.
