Gas prices suck, check out the new grocery getter

My grandpa-in-law said that when he was younger; he would go to the gas station with a $1.00 bill and fill up a 5 gallon gas can and come home with some change.
It just about opposite now:Take a $5.00 bill and a 1 gallon can and come home with the change.

Check out what the pay was in the early 60's vs what it is today. I remember paying 19 cents a gallon when I was mowing yards in 1964....and paying 35 cents for Mobil Supreme (about the most expensive around) for my car in 1970. 3.00 bucks a gallon really isn't that much out of line with present day pay etc. Don't get me wrong...I'll admit to missing paying a buck a gallon but that's not going to happen again but if this country keeps going in the direction that this present admin is trying to push it in...we'll be paying 8 bucks a gallon in years to come like Europe and other countries do. I don't like to get political here but the people who do not want to pay attention to what our politicians are doing only have their head in the sand....

You are right, I remember all that myself, you just got more guts saying it then i did! When I started driving I worked at a local gas station pumping gas for 25 cents a gallon (regular) Now im on disability and $3.00 seems like a lot, but as I said, you are right, BUT im afraid its going to get just a might higher. Can ya picture a young man with his very first car on the first day out pulling in to a station and getting 50 cents worth of gas because he lived 10 miles out and wanted to drive just a little more and get home now-ah-days? lol Ron
