I am replaceing my stock intake manifold with a aluminum duel plane type and want to block off the heat crossover.i found a gasket set at summit and it comes with the valley pan gasket and 2 manifold gaskets for each side.do you use 1 gasket then the pan and then another gasket then the manifold?Stock 383 and am going with the Weiand 8008 manifold, stock HP exaust manifolds and the manifold heat control valve is stuck in the wide open position.any info would be appreciated.

yes,its head, paper gasket, valley pan, paper gasket, then intake.creats a sandwich.you only torque aluminum intakes to about half iron intake specs,so the need the paper because they dont properly crush the steel valley pan.

Also, always use a thicker than normal flat washers on aluminum intake bolts. NEVER install them without some kind of washer....

I'd be surprised if you can get the bolts to start with all those gaskets in there. I was never able to so I just used some sealer on the valley pan and that's it. The intake was a torker on a 383.
