So I was wondering if i could put the cork gasket piece that goes under the timing chain cover without pulling the water pump housing and timing cover off on a 440?

A carpenter chisel punched in hard might work. With lots of ultra black

Why would you even try? Back in my days a dealer tech I investigated every way possible to be quick. First thing you learn? If you don't have time to do the job right the first time, you'll always have time to do it the second time. The second time didn't pay. When you got creative you could skip steps on part removal for access. But you had to be smart about it. Many times watched others try do sneak around without removing components for good access. It took them longer. This is one of those times.
