I wonder how legit, or how old is that website? Retail price of a Gear Vendors is $3195 and his website claims he sells them for $2795.I have kept this guy bookmarked for quite awhile. He is in Indiana though.
The 727 Specialist
*Super Duty 727 with Gear Vendors Od unit installed 3650.00
*Gear Vendors Od complete 727 kit 2750.00
Not sure if that's much savings for you. Good luck!

Classic Industries has them in their catalog for $2895, obviously a drop shipped price. Unfortunately, their website just recently showed them as no longer available.
Not sure how the reverse thing would be a problem. They are supposed to automatically turn off when you shift into reverse.I've bought several used GV overdrives. They tend to be worn out or broken. That's the only reason people get rid of them. If you back up and forget to disengage the OD, you can damage them.
A&A sell them if you want new. That's where I would go if I needed another one.
