I may have found one locally. It's in a running car. MP iron block, MP iron heads, says it has a solid lifter racer brown cam , stock bore and stroke. I'll keep this updated. I spoke to him today, trying to arrange for me to go see it run soon
Me too. He’s moving up to bigger hp all aluminum stroker.I like in the car and running, fewer stories that way.
This one in Mesa sold locally.I saw that one in mesa listed on a fb group … my problem is I don’t trust anyone. Nothing personal against that seller but I find it hard to believe a word anyone says. Shame too. The one in mesa date matches my car. Mine is a late year 68 build
Thanks. He’s 10 min from my shop in Bohemia.I know exactly how you feel. I would not go to another state where you can't drop by and see progress.
I will reccomend MERKEL Racing Engines .
Scott is a dealer here on the Island for many suppliers from block, heads and rotating assembly .Complete machine shop. He will give you a turn key dynoed engine that you helped spec and pick parts at a good price.
Merkel put this blown stroker pump gas engine together 10 years ago.
Thank you very much I appreciate it!Headers placed in the car, either pull the front shocks out or take the valvecovers off especially on the right side. Pull battery tray out as well. Probably done it 20 times, no issues. If it has a deep pan it's a bit trickier, just take your time and watch the firewall and the wiring on the firewall.
Did you use tremec 5speed and drop in from top as a unit?I have done this very thing with one of my 1970 Charger R/T's using Schumacher conversion engine mounts. Everything bolted right in and no clearance issues using stock dual four street Hemi intake, Carter carbs and stock oval air cleaner assembly.
Thank you I'm not really setup to go in from bottom but will keep it in mindIMO, if going from the top I would add the trans afterwards in the car. If you want to do it complete I would do so from the bottom. It's a lot of expensive stuff hanging there and you have to angle it really steeply to snake the trans in while trying not to hit anything.
