Gen 3 bracket motor

Wiring is finished, now tackling the fuel system.
I don't know how old everything is, so everything is getting new...

I had a linear actuator lying around from when I used to make Halloween props.
I was bored, so...

She's starting to come together...
Hope to be installed and running in a couple weeks.

Looking/sounding great - those intakes always look so impressive !

New billet Thumper dominator to top off the eiffel tower...

Looks & sound racy Bobby :thumbsup:

I'm falling in love!
motor, trans, starter and headers assembled in the garage and went in all together...
And I connected the starter wires from above.

The car moved under its own power this morning.
Loaded it up and dragged it to Island Dragway for a chassis cert.
Got a date with a dyno March 29...
Can't wait.

It will only cert. to 8.50 with the cage.
It's a bracket car, so I run with my club NODRAMA at LVD in NY.
Other races I run Pro.
Footbrake only.
This year when I go out to Ohio for the Mopar events, I'll also be able to run modern hemi class.
Going on a chassis dyno on Friday.
I just want this to last...
If I get 9.70's with reliability, I'll be more than happy.

sounds reasonable

good luck Friday

9.70s should be doable.
I have an acquaintance with a very nice 68 dart with a 6.1, similar build to yours. Consistent 5.90s car, I think that's around 9.50s quarter.
Of course, his old street car, also a 68 dart, about three hundred lbs heavier, ran easy mid tens with a 408.

Here is a brief warm-up pull on the dyno.
This was the second day. There were lots of bugs and small leaks to navigate.
At the end of the day, There was still more in it, but I called it quits.
It was still climbing when we stopped.
Next weekend I'll hit the track for some testing

I've been having all kinds of issues trying to get this thing to do what it should.
I'm making some progress but there's something in the tune that's holding it back.
I've got it running 10.2's @ 132 at the moment but there's definitely more in it.
The one nagging problem aside from that is it stalls at 175 degrees.
I can keep it below that assuming I don't have to hot lap it at the end of a race.
The problem is that I have a prototype efi source microsquirt in it to control the ignition.
The short story is molnar sent me the wrong reluctor wheel and short of tearing the engine apart to change it to run the msd, I tried this out.
I've had a couple people look at it but still can't figure out the stalling issue.

wow thats a bummer .
Bob can you instead use a pulley mounted crank trigger if reluctor is incorrect ?

Tex

Sorry to hear that
I have no clue what it is

I relatively hate computers, why I never did it "YET"

good luck you'll figure it out or find someone to help figure it out

maybe ?
try Richard Nedbal (don't remember his screen name on here)
he's the Fastman-EFI guy/owner maybe talk to him
maybe he has a fix or an idea or the part/tune to make it work... ??
