going price for 727 H/P rebuilt transmission

Looking at purchasing a 727 locally, trans guy wants $675 for a rebuilt 727;

CL Ad;
Completely rebuilt transmission with Raybestos H/P clutches, TransGo Shift Kit,High Energy int. band.

Is this a fairly good price? He has a Turbo Action reverse manual VB for $110 I am trying to get him to install at cost as it is nearly a bolt in piece. So around $775 total.

what shifter do you have? the reverse valve body will need the shifter with the reverse 1 2 3. i have a turbo action automatic in mine and i love it. also could still use my slapstick shifter

Seems reasonable. I charge around $1K and up, but I do a full cosmetic resto as well. Soda or bead blasted case, and do some other mods.

He is going to build the transmission for $750 with the turbo action reverse manual VB. He quoted me a 10" converter from TSI for $620 for my turbo setup they will custom build for me and ship out the next business day. The transmission and converter have a 'no bull' one year warranty in his terms. I have never met him, but says he has been building racing transmissions since 1981. Going to meet him tomorrow as he is about an hour and a half out of town, said he can have the transmission done by Friday.
