I’d be more concerned with how to sell gold when the need arises? The cash for gold places are a rip off I’m sure, probably paying 50% of value if even that.
Perhaps there is a gold ETF or gold mining stock that’s a better way to play gold prices as the shares can be easily sold at market price.

Looks like you would have to pay 28% capital gains tax when you go to sell unless it's legal tender (American Eagle, etc).

Anyway, purchase online at distributors such as AMPEX, SDBULLION, & etc.

They track the spot price of gold, silver, etc. by the minute; and all of them charge different prices above the spot price.

I'll give them kudos on the security measures they have incorporated into their precious metal offerings. These measures make it more difficult to make counterfeits.
