I'm looking at the Grant's Tuff wheel knock-off. There are some complaints on Amazon about bad quality. They're years old though, perhaps Grant has worked out the issues?

I have the leather Grant 1004 Tuff Wheel, and while not 100% concours correct, it's a very nice wheel for the money. If you don't like it, you can always send it back.

You can get a much more correct looking and mounting Tuff Wheel now.

For a bit more buckage, of course.

Only other repro I've seen was $500. My car is an original skinny rim car, so I don't need to be "Concours correct." I just need a thick rim to go along with my upgraded handling, and if it looks like a Tuff wheel, that's a nice bonus.

I got one from Stripe Classics for my Challenger. Came with the horn switch and push pad. Looks OK and fitted straight to the stock crush can.
It was a while ago but I think it was $150

I ordered one off Amazon for $143 + tax, with free shipping. Here's hoping I get a good one. I liked the thin wheel, but I've lost my grip on a wheel before and I never want that to happen again.

My Grant Tuff wheel knock-off came in a few days ago. No packaging, so maybe a Chinese knock-off of the knock-off? The quality seems pretty good though. The edges of the spokes are smooth, not sharp enough to cut, as some complained about with the real Grant knock-off. The only complaint I have here is that I would have liked the rim to be thicker, but I can understand staying with what Chrysler made. I'd hate to have to put a cover on it to get a better grip.

It didn't come with an installation kit, but Grant may not sell them that way. If you're replacing a real Tuff wheel, you'll already have the hardware.

Looks like this guy got the same stuff I did from Summit, so I guess I have a real Grant wheel. The bad news is, an adapter is necessary to install this wheel on a non-Tuff wheel car. Somebody on ForABodiesOnly made one in the past.

(the video creator decided to disable playback on other sites, so if you've got to see his vid go to YouTube and enter this code in the searchbar - )

Then there's the stuff Grant makes, if I can figure out how to buy it separately -

I've seen complaints that the Grant Tuff wheel doesn't cancel the turn signal. Why would that be?

The Grant wheel or the factory steering wheel does not do the canceling.
That steel tang is located on the back of the crush can or steering wheel adaptor.

I have the Grant wheel on my Runner.

I love it.
I have manual steering on the car so the bigger diameter is perfect for me.

Where did you get the adapter that brings the wheel out to the correct distance? All the Grant adapters I've seen are 5 holes. not three.
'71 charger interior finish 3.jpgGrant 246 from possibly Summit Racing. Can and button from Indy swap meet years ago. Manual steering works great.

Does anyone know the part numbers for the Grant adapter and installation kit, for the Tuff wheel?

Maybe the 3314 installation kit and 4000 extension. I found a pic of the 4000 extension that shows more of the top - it's got three bolt holes inside of the five bolt holes for the other wheels.

$85 shipped and taxed, not as big a hurt as $170 just for the extension!
