Graveyard Carz Fall 2015

I'd like to see the show better & more of the cars, not cast

More about the show content, criticisms or my thoughts,
take it how you will...

I'm a day 2 type guy I've never hid that fact, I respect the 100% OEM Purist stuff too,
I've done both, I do know how hard either can be & I personally prefer the;
"build it how you like it, drive it like you stole it & damn the rest, who cares what others think",
type of mentality...

I don't mind that Mark/GYC's that he uses outside venders & aftermarket parts,
especially the performance oriented type stuff, to improve on handling & overall performance...

To me that kind of makes the show more like the real world, what most people out there do...
IMO it helps & relates/shows to far more viewers than the,
only 100% OEM Purist/Mopar-or-No-car crowd, when;
I believe most of us here on FBBO, are more evolved than that "blinders style" one way mentality...
But then they/Mark the show his posters on blogs/forums, crew, camera guys, editors, employees, producers, supporters, customers etc....
IMO then they shouldn't downgrade them, badmouth & then use them/install then now,
like he/Mark did early on, basically saying it's junk, that's bad for his & the shows credibility...

IMO the show & just maybe even Mark has somewhat evolved, it is a little better than early on...
BUT to me that part seems a little hypocritical, disingenuous, especially when you stich is
self proclaimed, "the best in the world or only a few/handful can do this"...
Even if it's on meant in jest or passing...

They certainly don't seem like mechanical guys, maybe someone behind the scenes is ?,
but those onscreen to me seem more like, body & paint, parts replacers is their main experience,
not the mechanical or electronics end of the builds...
Maybe the new guys have more experience in those areas we will soon see...

Thanks to GYC's/Mark {or whom ever it is, relating our comments}
for reading & noticing, taking heed...
The show has improved some, even if it is minimal so far over a couple of seasons...
They all should have the concept down by now...

GYC's, Mark & the crew or cast, everyone involved, had
"Better have a thick skin, if you want to be in the publics eyes/celebrities"...

Well said as usual, While reading this I thought of the count of count's kustoms that show I like and know they don't give a rats *** what anyone thinks they build what the customer wants or lets them decide to build, but rarely ever do you see any product placement or where they got the parts from which in a sense is frustrating, maybe it's a secret? And talk about horse play or antics or drama holy crap lol but its for fun for them and the audience just like GYC I see no difference.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me, liar - liar pants on fire, takes one to know one - na-na-na- nana!!!

they sure dont my Facebook private message box has been blown out by all of them the last few days

For the record I like to look at the in's and outs of OE restorations but like you am a Day 2 or what ever makes the car reliable kind of guy . If i cant drive it i dont want it .

Stu you are the man, and I have watched your car for many years now and love it, I mean no disrespect to anyone but like most men will not be called out or generally called names by someone(not you) who has just pure hate in their head and turn away lol you are one of many like Woman whose opinion I place in a high value category as I only own two mopars my experience level is low so to look up to those who can tell me what is right or offer a moparian opinion holds high with me.

Respect
JB

You are mostly correct. He does deadpan a lot during the show and I am sure off camera it still persists. However, at the end of the last episode Mark's remark about being the best was NOT deadpanning Nor a joke of any sort. The statement he made was very clear. Remember, you only watched a few minutes?

Overall, I enjoy the show. Especially, with less bickering and more tangible information. They are listening to the heard and making the proper improvements to the show. That is great! Thanks for listening GYC and Producers!

As far as the vendors involved they are biased regardless.

In the end. This is why a forum exists, it is a discussion. Like it or not.

Fixed it for ya...No such word as irregardless. It is "regardless" at all usages. Just helpin' out is all...cr8crshr/Tuck

Wrong; {pun intended :iamwithstupid:} sorry Cr8crshr/Tuck it is a word,
I did a fact/word check, because I think I've used it too,
that's according to the definitions on Wikipedia says it is...LOL
tit for tat, I hate playing spelling police/Nazis,
because this is a car forum not English Lit 101 (@ my age ignorance is bliss)

nonstandard

Usage Discussion of IRREGARDLESS

Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

Well I'll Be A Suck Egg Mule!!!!! :thinker::thinker::thinker: Still the last sentence is what I will go by personally. Tough sometimes when one gets long in the tooth and learned English before it changed into something totally different in its present state. And of course learning Latin helped too but that is an other topic for discussion and I do not want to be accused of "putting on airs" about myself. Thanks for the lesson though...cr8crshr/Tuck

Perhaps a little clarification is needed - Is this an FBBO vendor squeezing time away from the thread; next thing is if I pay more for my resto than you - mine is better!!!

I used to be gold too, but I spent my last 40 bucks on a 15" trim ring

If the Red 70 Charger has a few issues, no biggie! Just look at how it was before. If Mark's taking care of the small stuff now after the fact, good deal! This reminds me of a 1993 Dodge W250 Crew Cab, Cummins (the last Gen 1 Truck) I did for my ex brother in law a few yrs back. It started as a fix the peeling paint and fix the water egress into the Cab, and owner basically demanded I do it all for 10k. I never agreed to do it for 10k, I did the work to his expectations and to maintain the safety factor, etc. He bitched all the time, every month about money it was costing him -- and after numerous "Come get your truck then, I don't need to do anymore work on it" he always came around and said finish it.

After Media Blasting it, removing the Bed and fixing the massive rust underneath it, on the Frame, rotted cab floors, and telling owner the engine and dash MUST come out to allow a safe media blast given the condition of the vehicle, (oh it was endless toil with that guy), when it was all said and done, and done I mean completed...I put his ridiculous Camper on the Bed, set out from San Antonio TX and drove it to north of Sacremento CA to deliver it -- not because he was such a great swell guy, no, to validate the work I did! Only one 'issue' driving, I didn't secure the Jack to the inside Fender and it went tumbling out in AZ somewhere! It climbed the Grapevine north of Los Angeles at a great pace, no problems!

After a few months I had to remind the owner of the list of issues the truck had, small stuff. And, I reminded him and re-sent the list to him. Bottom line, these jobs are HUGE, and take 3-4 times as long and just as much money more than any 'budget' allows. And BTW, I did dozens of hours for free.
