Graveyard Carz Fall 2015

I'd think that all that adjusting would have taken more than one day with paint touch up and all. I'd at least like to have the paint cure at least 24 hrs before subjecting it to road debris or other environmental possiblities.

Apparently the owner likes the car then. The producer guys is not blaming him they are pointing out obvious things in response to what YOU are bringing up.

If you know the owner of the car why don't you ask him to come here and speak for him self instead of you speaking for him ... and does the car owner know you are speaking for him? I'm sure there is more to the story i.e. did they tell GYC I don't care that you are not done yet I need it by this date to make this drive? Maybe the owner can address the things you are bring up first hand and maybe he has a problem with it, maybe he doesn't.

I understand that Stu .. me either :)
You accused me of putting word in people mouths before , I think you need to re read the tread because i have never spoken for Mike Hill the owner here , Infact all of this is my Opinion and when asked if i had talked to mike about this car I stated i had not . So please do not state that i am speaking for Mike , I am not , I am just trying to get these guys to admit they are not putting out the product they claim too be . Instead they making excuses and or dont Appologizing for sloppy quality controll and unchecked work they push blame elsewhere.

I never said the owners should be more critical

And if they did want an issue addressed
they may have been able to wait a day before driving the car cross country

Concerned, that was your word. Sorry, because critical was a proper choice of terminology due to the workmanship presented here vs. concerned.

I was going to leave alot more of the issues i Saw lay but it seem the more i bring up the more people come out of the woodwork to make excuses ,
Anyways the line on this vinyl top goes all the way across and if you remember the episode they put the vinyl top on before filling the roof properly for the proper factory roof line . So Mark cheaped out and instead of peeling the top off completely and filling the area properly and then reinstalling a new top . They peeled the top back just enough to fill the roof , then glued it back down leaving a line all the way across the roof that sticks out like a sore thumb now .View attachment 286851View attachment 286852

I guess the owner should have waited a day:icon_kidra: Ohh the irony!

Bickering, nitpicking etc..........That group is great for childish name calling.

Quote for the day::::

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

I'm absolutely amazed at how some people try to rewrite history. Lol

Just like the gaps between the body panels. That line probably wasn't there when the car was first
picked up. After driving a few hundred miles, the line on the vinyl top probably occurred from the car being driven on a regular basis. Lol.

When and where?

I didn't "state" that you are speaking for him. I said "If you know the owner of the car why don't you ask him to come here and speak for him self instead of you speaking for him". It's a figure of speach.

I also get that all of this is your opinion and that you are on a mission.

First off I want to say I have always liked your car, very cool looking...I just wanted to say that I had my car at another shop before GYC..it was going to cost me 3 times what I paid at GYC and while my car has some issues it is far better than what I would have gotten at the other shop.( I saw the work they were doing and that's why I took it home) . I realize that you think GYC's is ripping people off by the work they are doing, but maybe you should let the people that have cars done there worry about that.So don't send a car there to be restored and let us worry about the QC on our cars and there would be a lot less bickering on this post. Just my 2 cents. Hope everyone has a good day!

agreed to some of your points , NO ONE HAS TO LIKE MY CAR THATS NOT THE POINT OF THIS ,I built it for me and thats the only person it has to impress . So lets move on . One reason i'm a little personal here , Is one of the cars that got restored there the owner personally called me before taking the car there , At that point I was Drinking the graveyard Carz Koolaide and thought that Mark walked on water . I was posting for him all over the Web and defending him whole heartedly to the nay Says like me now . This person asked my personal opnion and i told him to take his car there . So now i feel i really steered him wrong . I had two more people I send there since that have also had bad experiences . So yes its gotten alittle personal for me in that i put my word , my reputation out there . So now I feel I need to warn others or actually get them to make there Quality controll practices better . Where there is so much smoke there is fire !!!!!!!

I thought I remembered that you were a GYC advocate at one time ,and I can see why you are upset but we are all grown men and women and should be responsible for what we do...Like I said my car came home with some problems and I was upset about it but Mark is taking care of all my complaints at his cost. I couldn't make the 3000 mile trip out there to go over the car so I had to wait until I got it home to check it out,but I am sure if I went out there and had complaints he would have taken care of them. Just like the other cars that were done there if the owner really had a complaint Im sure it would have been taken care of. And I am fairly sure Mark is keeping a tighter grip on what comes out of GYC now. Don't blame yourself for you buddies car, all will be good.

This is the reason why if I have any work done, it will be close enough to keep tabs on it. If the car is over 3000 miles away you have no control over what is done until you it is too late. Bottom line is that people need to do their homework and see the shops work first hand. I know from the work that I've seen turned out by Graveyard Carz I'd never bring anything there (even if I lived right down the road).

Its never too late, all the issues are being taken care of and I would put my car up against any ones!! Have you seen all the cars they put out in person? I made the right decision sending my car there, to get a nut and bolt restoration for the price I paid I am happy so far.. If the issues don't get resolved for some reason I will let you know. If I were you I wouldn't send anything there...then again they might not want it.

So, Hemi Guy, your statement seems like it could be a bit ambiguous? "...If I were you I wouldn't send anything there..." Really, or, were you clowning around?

The only meaning I had for that statement is that if he's that set against the work they do then don't send a car there. In my opinion(which doesn't mean you have to take it) The reward outweighs the risk if you take your car there.

Trust me, most of us will not, lol

The issues you posted on the web are below novice mistakes. That is why the hobbyists are hyper critical of the workmanship. Fixable mistakes, sure anything is but at what cost? Time, Travel, and as stuart mentioned relationships.

Quoted from you: and I would put my car up against any ones!!

Take it to OE gold then? Chryslers at Carlisle?, Nationals in Columbus?......

Most of us here have, including myself.

it must have been very exciting and fun to put your car under that kind of scrutiny.....how did it do?
