My results, however, weren't so great. Got some pictures though.

And here's my first attempt with a Gopro.

Nice pics. Lets see some slips. How did the race go? We need a story to go long.

I broke out in the the first round. Fun day anyway. I am in dire need of a torque convertor. 12.64 @ 111.75 with 1.98 60ft. Had traction, but the stock convertor is killing me on the line.

Looks like a lot of fun Bob thanks for the video! I did see a member has a converter for sale...
I'd be happy if my car ran in the 12's.

Great day as usual with the NENDRA guys. Cool crisp air with a wicked tail wind.
Not my personal best but still went 145 mph.
Barometric pressure was 29.89.
If it were a 30.+ I think records would have been set.
The track prep was insane especially for opening day, I couldn't have asked for a better surface. 4 guys up at the starting line all day taking care of business. Sweeping, dragging and spraying.
These guys know how to make a track work.
We will be back in 2 weeks for another NENDRA race 4/19.
Traffic going home was non existent. Saturdays seem to be the day to go since Sunday just sucks *** going over the Tappan Zee Bridge.
It was great seeing everyone again.

BobTile and his crew were awesome. Taking pictures and hanging out. Many laughs and just having fun between rounds.

not too shabby, respectable #'s... she's got more in her for sure, get that slight low rpm drain, bog out of the launch, get better 60ft times that will lead to better ET's & more converter will help some for sure, your mile per hour not bad, for what you have... good luck & cool video too

Bob refresh my memory what, was the corrected altitude/what air temps/combined relative air density {I saw above 29.89 barometer} ??, what was the weight as raced ?, what gears ?, what air pressures in the new Drag Radials ?, cam & rocker ratios ?, converter {stock-ish sounding ?} ?, what trans mods ?, what carb & intake ?, what ignition & timing specs ?, what exhaust {hopefully headers} & size tubing ?, front suspension {stock ?} & rear suspension {SS springs or stock leafs ?}, what shocks ?, what combo are you currently running etc. ?, I know you recently said & showed us, you went to 275/60/15 drag radials, I couldn't see if it did or not, but didn't look like your car seem to lift in the front or rear "much if at all", not much movement at all... Sorry, I'm not trying to be overly critical, I think you did well, I'm just curious, what's your expectations, eventually "what do you want her to ultimately run" ??... I take it traction wasn't an issue by the 1st video, it didn't sound like it spun anyway...

Ok, let's try to get this all in. The track is about 500 ft above sea level. temps were about 48. I think SSR said 29.89 bar. Car is stock weight, full interior no weight savings at all. Add about 240lbs. for me. 3.55 gears(have 4.10s in the garage waiting.) I ran 20lbs. in the rears. Lunati hydro cam 231/[email protected]" .535/.550 lift +1.6 hughes roller rockers. So .570/587 adjusted. Stock converter. 727 trans reverse pattern manual valve body. MSD 6a ignition. Timing is 12*btdc and 37 total. Not tunable billet distributor from 440 source. Stock front torsion bars and shocks. Disconnected sway bar. ss rear springs and stock shocks. You are correct on tires. 275/60/15. No traction issues. No weight transfer either. I know I have a lot of work to do on it. I originally built this completely as a street car and got bored , so went racing. I felt the car was lazy on takeoff but you can really hear it in the video. I would like to be near 11.5 with this car. I don't want to put a cage in it. Eventually would like to build a dedicated track car. So that's the deal. I feel the 4.10s and a torque converter would really wake this up.

Oh yeah, Offenhauser 2x4 intake w/2 500 edelbrocks, 1-3/4" headman headers into 2-1/2" exhaust. Cutouts just ahead of the mufflers, so the exhaust actually runs through the x-pipe before it gets to the cutouts.

Sweet Bob-o! Love to see the olde GTX'er out makin runs!

you'll get her all dialed in soon...keep on truckin buddy

Bob my buddy runs a 65 Belvedere with a similar combo. .590 Mopar cam same intake 600 Eddy's. We added good converter, 4.56 9x28 slicks it runs 11.50@115

I don't how you guys do those reverse valve bodies I would be missing left and right lol nice job on the vid, I didn't see anything not go well it all looked great

Awesome video, thanks bob! I would think that changing out the 3:55's for 4:10's would put you close to 11 seconds and a converter would seal the deal, especially with those temps.

Nice GTX!

Thanks for the refresher, I'm lazy didn't want to search all the posts to find your combo...LOL... :iamwithstupid: she's a heavyweight, makes those runs even that much more respectable... Put in them 4.10:1 gears in & a good quality stall, something like a IMHFO 3800-4200 rpm converter {3500rpm min., it'll still be very street-able, with 4.10's}, it sounds like you've got enough engine, to get your goal, just get it to move up & out on "together", on the launch, with more stall speed it will help if the weight transfers more, a good shock will help a ton too, especially when you start working the suspension more, S/S spring should get you there, especially with the proper shocks & settings, that's a good idea to disconnect the front sway bar when your at the track & if it's tuned properly & jetted properly, you will get allot closer to your goal of 11.50 easily, especially in pretty good cool air like that {if the track isn't too cold}, but a roll bar min. required & recommended going any faster, mandatory @ 11.49... all stuff I'm sure you know already... good luck, sound like you had fun

much lighter rims wouldn't hurt either... better braking & easier to get up-to RPM

Thanks for all the input from everyone. It is appreciated!
