ground wire from steering column to where?

My 69 charger R/T has a g-wire attached to the upper mount bolt of the column and I am wondering where it attaches to around or under the dash panel. Can anyone advise me? Thanks in advance and I promise to add pics later.

Beekeeper, thank you ever so much for your extremely helpful information. I am having to change out headlight switch and noticed it dangling. Uncledave out.
