Guys That Need Pictures

Yeah...sorry but we now live in a "digital" society...I'm not shelling out any loot without pictures

I would want a pic to see it so I know if I am even interseted in going to look at it. Actually I have found in most things for sale when there is no pics it is not in very good shape and thats why the seller dont post pics. And if they dont list a price it is a very high price and they dont list the price because they know most wont even look at it at the high price. This is just what I have observed over my years dont mean it towards you as per say. Ron
Here, it's the rule to list prices and we try to get everyone to conform to that rule. Basically, parts placed up for sale without a price is more or less an auction.

This post had "old guy" written all over it :toothy9: :VB toast:
Hey, I resemble that remark! :grim:

As stated, with the internet you are selling world wide. Pics are a must, not an option. If you want to sell locally to the guy comes and looks at it first, post it in your local rag for sale. If you advertise around the world, you will miss out on 90% of sales without providing a picture of your product. I'm in Canada and I buy parts from all over the continent. Obviously I don't send money without seeing pics. That said, even then they may not be of the item I receive, I take a risk there. But I put trust in a reputation on the forums. I have had good luck so far.

Are you serious!! Before I spend my time and money on the perception of what someone else thinks there part looks like, I want: ......not only pics, but CLEAR pics and enough of them to see the whole part at different angles. High res pics are a common place and If I can't see the detail in the pics, I will pass. I always receive pics and run them through iphoto to really clear them up before I decide to purchase. A bit more work up front, but will save me time in the end. Once the seller sends the part to you(and they have your money)...it's not there problem/part anymore...it's yours.

The other issue I've found is a lot of times buyers have no real clue what they need. They'll contact me and say "I need an X." And I'll say what year/make/model are you working on, and they'll tell me. Then I'll ask for a part #, and they won't have one, and then they say "it's the thingamabob that goes right above the whatchamacallit." Then I'll send them a picture of what I think they're asking for and they say "that's not it." That's why I quit selling parts on craigslist. Most of those folks think all radiators, alternators, carbs, etc., are the same.

I used to buy lots of parts sight unseen from ads in hemmings (before Al Gore invented the internet), that's when people where honest though.

That and the used part were 25 years newer than they are today.

If I'm buying local I can do without pics because I'll ride over to pick it up and if whatever I'm buying doesn't look right I can pass on the deal. If I'm buying from someone who had to ship it to me then pics are a must.

applicant pictures, usually it's too far and want to do the math, if it suits ....... I for example I wanted photos of a fender, why meet with you see from Italy, I would have lost out. .....
Then, I evaluated, and bought .......:)

No I am actually not referring to you. N.Y. is too far to travel for trim pieces. I had local people that were too lazy to come look at the car and parts. They lived 15 minutes away. The 62 in which you are referring to was only missing one piece of trim near the grill. My next car to sell will be a black 84 Grand Fury cop car that has never been registered to the public , and has been in storage for over 20 years. It will go on ebay

you should really tell the whole story and not make up " parts " as you go along.
i specifically asked you for the hood trim and the pass side rear qtr trim piece,
to which i cant find a reply from you.
i thought you had replied saying you didnt have those pieces and i offered some specific cop car Gran Fury parts to you as well,if you were in need.
however,i cant find those in my reg emails.
i also asked you about a variety of other parts as well.>see pm-

which is why i finally sent you a pm asking what happened w the car.
those were the make it or break it as far as driving " all the way " to ohio,
btw,its right next door to me in western ny.lol!

62 will be parted out after thanksgiving . Grand fury is a cop car that has never been registered since 1990 or to the public. I am in the process of getting a legal title for the 101,000 mile car at this point. It will be for sale next spring to the cop car clubs.

I don't understand people's problem with pictures. I remember the old days when a lot of ads for cars in Hemmings and other magazines would state, "Send SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) for pictures." THAT was in the good old days when you had to take 35mm pics, pay to have them developed, pay for each print, and pay again if you wanted them duplicated. It could get to be a time consuming and expensive proposition. however, NOW, to take a digital pic, download to computer, and e mail it costs about nothing! And I would think that most guys that are active in the car hobby are now savvy enough to understand that....

Beaters r us is absolutely right. I only told part of the 62 Dodge saga. Anyone asking for me to text them pictures of the car, I did. He even got some from me along with about 28 other people. As for the guy that didn't need pictures of the car, he drove 3 hours to get here and was happy with the way I described the car over the phone.
Beaters has mentioned that he has some cop car parts that would be great for the low mileage cop car that is my next project. Lights and flasher bar. How should someone make an inquirey about those parts? He could have pictures, but should he also have a video with sound track to show that they operate correctly?
All my parts and cars have pictures. Just ask for them.

and if someone was to ask me about the cop car parts, why then id just take some Fresh pics of the parts.
not a bad idea about the video of the lightbar working,it does actually.

my whole problem w you was the way you came at me,
like i was supposed to jump in my rig and trailer to ohio with very little info.
you also didnt reply to the parts i needed, which again makes it Worthless for me to plan a trip.

for the finale, when i got back to you because you Didnt get back to me,after thanksgiving,
you then implied that i didnt have any money and so wasnt even a real buyer.
you were quick to say that people who wanted pics had no money and were tire kickers.
the Same day,you posted this topic w the Same implication, except this really didnt work out for you,as you can tell.

you dont know me mate.
not at all.
ill go 3 states away to get something i want.
ive taken friends to buy mopars in canada, mich, all over the country.

furthermore, your 101Thousand mile car, isnt really worth much,as you well know,
and tbh,if you are trying to help other mopar fanatics,Esp the cop car guys,
then you Should post it to those people, and not ebay.

all this has done,is make you look greedy.
good day, sir,im done w this topic and you.

what say you met a gal on the internet. and you wanted to see a pic of her, and she said " i'm really hot". would you believe her and drive 500 miles to go see her?
Especially if she was a under cover cop posing as a ???????

So, by selling the car with all the parts on it to a man with cash and a trailer that needed no pictures, that makes me look greedy? I see it as getting that old 62 Dodge with the right person that I know will be dismantling the car and selling the parts to whoever needs them. Hopefully he will advertise them with pictures. He usually sells at the big swap meets.

I like pictures....and beer. :VB toast:
