I’ve never met the guy, wouldn’t know him from Adam. In the days before the internet, his little white books contained a wealth of information that couldn’t easily be found anywhere else. They still do.

agreed,he used to be the man.
you could see him change,over the years,
into a know-it-all type and he would be wrong at times as well.
now,hes just a myth,esp if he still owes you,seeing him is like seeing Atlantis.

So how, if at all, does his current status affect any prior documentation he has provided? The previous owner of my T/A Challenger had G.G. document the car many years ago and I'm sure he paid dearly for it. Is the credibility still there? Is the documentation worth anything as far as vehicle value in the Wide World of Mopar? I'd be curious to hear anyone's thoughts or comments on this...

It doesn't affect the documentation......His documentation doesn't necessarily add value....What adds value are the obvious FT, BS, body stampings, VIN plate, door tag, block and trans stampings. Take that along with his report or a report from Dave Wise or a report from MMC and that just adds more documentation to legitimize the car.....

I phoned his business many years ago, and he answered the phone. Believe it or not!
Back in the dark ages of the early '80s, he was a member of the old Mopar Muscle Club International. Back then he would decode cars for free for fellow members. I just came across old correspondence from him from that time when he decoded my '70 GTX. It was all hand written letters and he wrote the codes out by hand, too. There were several letters going back and forth between us. He would have put a fair amount of time into laying all of that out for me - and for free. I never did meet him in person, but I did see him walking around at the MCACN show in 2017. moparedtn summed it up perfectly, as far as I'm concerned.

Galen had connections and access to factory production numbers.
Before the internet he was about the only source that could tell you any of those numbers and he knew a LOT of them by heart.
In fact, most of the data on the internet today is likely his work.
He is just the middle man, and profited from repackaging it into convenient books made available to the general public, but someone had to seek out and collect all that info.
Knowing where to get it in the first place and I imagine being persistent.....
