Has anyone here tossed in a Keisler transmission into their Mopar?

amazingly cool 1962savoy. congrats.

are you using the stock speedometer in the dashboard or are you using something aftermarket?

i am wondering what needs to be done to hook up the speedometer cable from the new transmission to the stock speedometer in my dashboard.

Give Keisler a call if you have the leaky speedo cable. They have an updated one that I believe they will send ya for free. (Not gospel, but I think I read that somewhere.)

Rs 600

I understand the new RS 600 is suppose to start shipping in February. I am still holding out waiting for the RS "perfect fit."

We are selling the RS 5-speed PerfectFit kit for Mopar B-body now:

RS400, 400 torque, $2295
RS500, 500 torque, $2595
RS600, 600 torque, $2995

Add $150 for bellhousing machining of your bell, OR, you can purchase our new bell (big block) for $269 with your forum member discount. We will have small block aluminum bells in Q2. Until then, you will need to source your own, or purchase the SFI Quicktime bell for $429.

I've done 3 of these conversions, TKO 600's. The B-body was "relatively" easy, there are a few tight spots. The drive train angle is a bit of a problem, header clearance at the steering linkages. Two were 4 speed cars, one was an auto.

The E-body was easy, a little cutting and done.

The E-body is a very nice shifting unit, the B is a bit harder.

Has Passon hit the market with his 5 speed yet? I had a bit of trouble with the last Keisler RS trans I installed. (Albeit, in a Corvette).

I'm confused as to the difference between shift effort of the two transmissions...since ultimately they are both 600's. Do they use different shifter locations?

Shafi, I pulled the 600 out of my Mustang and have purchased a Quicktime bell, and have a trans crossmember for my 67 Plymouth - my intent is to do the req'd machining to the tailhousing and purchase the Pro-50 mid shifter (recommended by a bunch of Factory Five guys), using Wilwood hydraulics, etc......my question is, will you guys sell individual pieces at this point? I called your company once upon a time (when you first started selling these kits) and was told that you only provided the kits, and would not sell individual parts. I think the only thing I may need is the speedo cable. Let me know please - thanks.

Ordered an RS600 in mid January.......canceled Friday. I think I have been more than patient. 7 months...ridiculous.

Yes, completely different mounting locations for the shifters. Quite honestly, the old 833 shifted easier than the B-body TKO does.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for answering watermelon's q's. If you fellas can post your pics, and testimonials, we'll get them up on our site also, and send you a tshirt, stickers and Keisler squeeze shift ball!

Regarding "lowering the rear of the engine," this refers to lowering the engine down so that the transmission can be easily installed to the engine/bellhousing. If you were not to lower the engine, it is near impossible to install the transmission because you cannot align the input to the crankshaft pilot bearing.

Driveline angle should be unaffected. We have isolator mount shims in the kit to raise it up if you need to.

Regarding the speedo cable, any of you having the speedo cable that leaks at all are entitled to receive a free upgrade to our new design USA OEM made cable. Don't let an oil drip ruin your fun.

Mine speedo cable is leaking, how do I get a new one?
