Have scientists brought back the extinct dire wolf? | ITV News 46,062 views · 10 hours ago

Cute lil' guys, when young

I know a few people from back in the day, that had kept 2 wolfs at pets.
1 was in Alaska in mid 80's, I was over & around them a lot,
I even bottle fed them when really lil' orphaned pups,
& seen them almost daily...
You still had to be very careful when you had your back to them
when subadults or fully grown...
They'd come & clip you in the back of the legs/or hip etc. & knock you down
kind of hover over you...
I wasn't really afraid of them, I knew them well, but you can't trust them,
even domesticated...
His wife got bit several times...
&
I also knew someone with wolf hybrid/dogs, they were strange animals for sure...

Dire Wolf, from 10,000-15,000 years ago, supposedly extinct...
I remember seeing something on a show out of NE Utah, Skinwalker Ranch (real ?)
they found a rotting, stinky *** & recent corps of an "alleged" Dire Wolf, in creek,
took it's lower jaw off, had it DNA tested, it came back as a Dire Wolf...

Allegedly;
They are known as one of the most deadly animals known to man...
I would assume they will be habituated to be around & raised by humans
so it may not be a huge deal...

Why though ?
for what purpose ?
does it serve any real purpose ?
except showing off, they could ?

They have to have DNA from the animal, grey wolf or dog etc., that they got the eggs/sperm
from as donors... Test tube babies...

Scientists/humans messing with stuff they really shouldn't, never ends well...

They can't ever release them, or certainly they shouldn't ever...
They'd make current wolf extinct, if bread & take hold, 'a 200# wolf as a full grown adult'...

Wooly mammoth next? Sabertooth tiger next?

It's not very nice nor smart to FOOK with Mother Nature!!! There is a reason why certain creatures are now extinct. It is also the same as opening Pandora's Box!!!...cr8crshr/Bill :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

Just because you can doesn't mean you should !
We may have proliferated because they didn't.
I don't see all this science working out well in the end.

It's Ok guys, ChatGTP told me that it helped the scientists figure out the genetic sequencing to accelerate the end of humanity.

Wait no, that can't be right. I must have heard it wrong.

The tassie tiger, they have been looking into it for the last couple of years.it only went extinct in 1936 so they have plenty of examples in museums

The next thing is you’ll see em for rehoming
On Craigslist & Facebook for a small fee ….
Wait till the unsuspecting families find out what they like to eat when mature……

Nothing like playing Russian Roulette with a fully loaded 50 cal pointed at your balls.. Leave it alone it’s like a sore pecker but hey scientists know it all..

Just like the huge snakes and Tegu lizards in the Florida swamps and the lion fish in the Caribbean were once pets that were intentionally or accidentally released. They quickly breed out of control and take over their new environments. Just leave this to the history books and stop playing god.

I can say without a doubt….if any pet , whatever it is , bites me or a family member…..good as gone.

Very cool to have the knowledge and technology to be able to do that but in my opinion it doesn’t outweigh the dangers of using it!
