Good Morning. I Was wondering if I can get some info on fitment for a new clutch fan for my 64 sportfury. The one on my car spins freely.Would the haydon 4927 work the shaft is shorter than most thanks nick
Thanks for your reply.First - does it tighten up after the engine is run and hot? They should turn freely (somewhat) on a cold engine. I read that the shorter depth were typically used on AC cars and the longer depth on non-AC cars (?). Sounds sort of reasonable. Typically you want the fan positioned about half in and half out of the shroud.

Thank YouI have the Hayden #2947 on all three of my cars. My '72 Dart 318 has the stock oem radiator. It's worth giving it a try. Some aftermarket radiators do have clearance issues.
Thanks Nick
I don’t know the thicknesses of the stock radiators. I do know that the thickness does vary with aftermarket units. The 2947 is your last option if clearance is limited. After that, you’re looking at electric fans.
Thanks NickI wish the coils on these were adjustable. They just come on too late for my liking so I recut the coil anchor leg so that it starts locking up about 10* - 15* sooner. Not sure why I did not take a finished picture but cut a new notch at “A” and move the leg back.

If the person uses the OEM/MOPAR radiator for the specific year - engine - A/C (or not) application and the correct cooling fan and clutch assembly and shroud then clearances will be in tolerance and everything will look like it belongs snd functions as intended. IMO....The Hayden stuff screams of aftermarket appearance....cost is NOT the most important consideration.......at least for me......why spend 1000s of $$$ on the engine or wheels or paint then scrimp on the cooling system??? Then install aftermarket electric fans and associated parts.....Makes no sense......I don’t know the thicknesses of the stock radiators. I do know that the thickness does vary with aftermarket units. Do you have the FSM (Factory Service Manual) and the MOPAR parts manual for your vehicle? If not obtain a copy of each. Have you been to Chryslers at Carlysle or MOPAR Nationals or the WOODWARD DREAM CRUISE or any local car cruises to shop for parts or use the for sale section of the FBBO forum. These are EXCELLENT venues for OEM MOPAR parts. YES... early Mopar parts can be difficult to find but you must put forth the effort to.do your research.....by part number...and yes parts can be expensive but they are available The Dodge Street Wedge is not that rare and parts can be interchangeable between models....drive train, interrior etc. Join the local Mopar car club snd ask questions.......or plant a MOPAR parts tree and wait until it bears fruit.......remember: patients is a virtue..Yes you are correct. Now the 64,000 dollar ? .Are these parts available for my 64 street wedge.Thank You Nick
