wich headers fit best with out use of a hammer n perform the best for a 73 rr 318 car wich has been converted to a 440 and how big of exsaust work best 2 1/2 or 3 inch?

I forget sometimes that even with the all reaching forces of the internet ,sometimes there are people that have yet to hear of TTI.
TTI exhaust. TTI headers. Google them. There are vendors that sell their products including Mancini racing. They are pricey, but that are also very well made. I've owned 3 sets and have NOT been disappointed with them. Some guys have had good luck with Doug's Headers as well. They are cheaper than TTI. I've never tried a set, but I may in the future.
Pipe size is relative to cubic inches and horsepower. A mild 440 spinning less that 6000 rpms will be fine with 2 1/2" pipes. The 3" pipes will cost more and provide no benefits under 400 HP.

well my engine is a 440 cast crank with 516 heads 509 cam ballanced bored .40 what actulay would be the cubic inches of this and hp? oops i for got i put a dual 4bbl set up on through edelbrock thanks for your help

I bolted on a set of Headman Elite Hedders in my 73 Roadrunner with 440.
They fit real nice and had some room to spare.

Don't exactly remember where i found them other then i believe it was
E Bay. That was back in 2007 i believe but haven't seen them since. I have another plain set that i use most of the time but use the RR emblem matts for cruise night. If i come across them i'll let you know.

go tti 1 7/8" headers with 3" straight out the back the 1 7/8" collector is 3" so it smoothes out nicely and ive noticed going 2" things get a bit tight around the torsion bars etc. this is my 2 cents and currently have it on my 68 charger 440 which was originally a 318 car

Wow! Someday when my 70 Roadrunner grows up I hope it looks like yours! If my motor looked like that I'm not sure I'd even put it in the car. I'd just leave it on the stand and stare at it every night...

I just bought a TTI exhaust system for my Roadrunner with Dynomax UltraFlos, set to be hear tomorrow. I bought directly from them. They are a true American company and offer a military discount, awesome people to deal with. Waiting until the funds recover for the headers.

Only a few companies make headers specific for RB and B engines. Dougs and TTI come to mind. TTI is probably the best mopar header on the market by far. Just used a set of TTI 2" primary with 3.5" collector on 71 Charger. Installed 440/500" motor with Indy heads, Eddy three two intake, and XFI fuel injection. Even though 2" primaries does get tight we had no fitment issues with the TTI headers on build.

Anyone used Hooker 5101 (1 7/8 primary w/3" collector) before 0n 1966-67 B-body? How is the fitment on them? I know alot of folks having trouble with Hooker 5209 2" primary header.

Just stay away from those Hookers. I'm telling everyone I can, THEY ARE CRAP!! I've got a 72 satty with a 400/727 that came with the car. Those 5209s are the worst fitting piece of crap I have ever seen. Steering, tranny,etc.. When I called Schnooker I never got a Rep. I had to Email and everything was tough crap basically with the final word being I voided the warranty by sandblasting and coating them with POR 20. When I get the extra dough I will buy TTi !! Take care Howard

I have the hooker 1 7/8.....dont do it...not that they dont fit good but they leak no matter what gasket....I did see a set for like $60 I will try them.
