Hellcat engine

But which looks better??:D

Does the Helcat engine have a different bellhousing bolt pattern than the early 5.7 hemi engines? I thought I read somewhere that the early models were the same pattern as the smallblocks.

The Gas Monkey install in the 67 Dart was full-on radical race car, tube frame and all. I went back and looked at the Roadkill install in the 68 Charger and theirs was more realistic for converting a street car. Without knowing all the details I was surprised how easily the engine and auto trans plus all the assorted coolers, tanks, etc. dropped in. They also left the front and rear suspensions pretty much like stock. The bad part was they had to seriously tub the rear since they were racing the car, which permanently changed the body. If I were actually doing this I think I would start with a running and driving wrecked car rather than buying the Hellcrate - or possibly one of those complete palletized drivetrains.

I think that dart Gas Monkey's did also was bottle fed, because in watch a re-run Aaron was asked just before his run if he had the bottle on....hmmmm.

I saw a Coronet Super Bee 68/69/70 I don't remember, I'd have to find the pix, at Mecum in Kissimmee last year. It had the Hellcat motor, brake upgrades, etc. Very cool car.
As far as "hybrids" go, I would certainly consider one, but NOT for my REAL V code 70 Roadrunner. To me, the legendary performance of the 440+6 A12 and V-Code cars means they MUST have a 440+6 under the hood...MUST! My 70 V-Code Roadrunner has a 71 440 in it, and I am in the process of moving forward with a stroker build for my car. It has the Edelbrock 6bbl aluminum intake and Holley carbs, and the stroker will as well. I am adamant about the 6bbl staying in place, knowing that more power and possibly more reliability, less tuning, and less "finicky" ease of ownership would be available via a procharger, turbo, or even supercharger. If I want more power than my stroker provides, my best option due to the MUST of the 6bbl being what tops off my motor is nitrous oxide-and that's it. It's a matter of what is important to the OWNER, and keeping the 6bbl and making the most of that setup is what is important to ME. Fortunately that isn't too bad of a "sacrifice" because the 6bbl has tremendous potential and performs very very well, especially in the light of modern alternatives.
The only exception I would make would be 3x2bbl throttle bodies as part of a fuel injection system, and those setups are made to accommodate the stock 6bbl air filter system...I'd be OK with that.

BOTH the Gas Monkey and Roadkill cars used the bottle.

The weblink suggests that the Hellcrate is optomised for the 6-speed manual transmission. Anyone have ideas about if that could be changed to suit the 8-speed automatic....presuming that one is available still.
And does that automatic require a whole lot more special wiring looms and control?
