Hi everyone, just registered today. I don't have a B body yet, but am starting to do research on them.

I have a '68 Porsche 911 and a '64 VW Bug, used to have a '65 GTO in high school long ago. Itching to get a musclecar to add to the collection.

My dad had a '68 Road Runner, see attached picture from '69. I think it was the rare dark blue metallic color, and I think it had the base 383. Not sure if it was Torqueflite or 4 speed. I also think the interior was blue. Still need to get some details on that!

I also love the old Adam 12 tv shows where they drove the '68 and '69 Belvederes.

Anyways, I'm sure I'll be harassing everyone from time to time about things.

Mike F.

Hi...this is a great place for research etc while you look for that special car...when we decided to buy a Mopar this past summer we also liked the Adam 12 Plymouths but couldn't find the right one...anyway, we kept looking and finally this past November we found the right car for us...1973 Roadrunner... best of luck to you....Marla

Welcome, Fritter. You'll find a lot of helpful folks here. Judging from that pic, you have Mopar in your blood.

Thanks. Nice car Marlabuck. Yes, 64BEL.....my dad also had a Hemi Satellite (not sure what year, 65 to 67 somewhere) before the '68 RR......I believe it was red. I hear the story periodically from my mom about how my dad blew out the 4 speed powershifting it down Snelling Avenue in St Paul, MN in the '60s. :D

Now that's a cool dad!

Welcome, fritter! I got my first Mopar less than a year ago, people on this site have been great with answering my newbie-themed questions. I have a feeling that your future Mopar, whatever it may be, will become your favorite vehicle in your stable. My Charger is by far my favorite car I've ever owned. Good luck in your search, and take it from me- take your time in finding the car for you... don't rush into anything that doesn't feel right.

Thanks everyone. I looked around the 'net for a while and this seems to be the most happening B body site. I'll most likely be checking in here daily to get a feel for things.

I'm leaning two ways for now. Well, maybe three ways...

1. Get a real '68 RR, not a show car but a "driver" I can enjoy and tinker on
2. Get a stripper '68 Belvedere, again, a driver. Then drop a huge motor with 4 speed in. I love sleepers. Base Belve's seem kinda hard to find though.
3. Get a 4 door '68 Belvey or Satellite and make a real sleeper. Paint it white with brown interior ala Adam 12. Of course, insert a huge motor for fun.

I don't want a full resto, I want a driver I can tinker on.

I have 2 daughters age 6 and 1.5 yrs, so bringing them with to car events is tops on my list too.

I am 41 but I seem to gravitate towards older things....60's/70's music, cars, etc.....and I am constantly thinking and building cars in my head. Probably no different from anyone posting on this site! :toothy10:

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Seems we all have alot in common around here. I like your top choice of the `68 Road Runner but I am biased towards them as I am currenyly restoring one.Good luck in your search.
