Hello everyone, my name is Lou, im 42yrs old. Ive tinkered with cars alot in my younger years, (17-24 or so)but havent had a "tinker car" in a while now.

Ive been a life long Mopar Fan since the first time i saw The Dukes of Hazzard when i was 9. Have wanted a 68-70 Charger ever since. Unfortunately, i havent made enough money to ever afford one, and when i was living in NYC most of my life, (just moved to Oceanside Long Island New York, from Brooklyn) there wasnt much space to store/work on one, even if i did get it.

Over the years since seeing The Dukes, ive become a huge fan of Mopars, B-bodys in particular. Chargers, Super bees, Roadrunners etc. I also love 70 Challengers, 71 Satellites and Cudas.

I am hoping that 2015 will be the year i acquire a Mopar Muscle car. 68-70 Chargers are kind of out of my price range at the moment though. But, when i was a kid, there was a guy who lived a block away from me with a 71 satellite that was all "souped up" and even though the 68-70 Charger is "my car", the 71 Satellite has a special place in my heart. So im going to look for one of those as soon as i can. I am hoping to learn from and get to know you all here and hopefully be able to eventually make my dream come true!

Hi, welcome to the forum! :wav:

Man, 42? You're still young, plenty of time to find your car, Lou. :)

Welcome from across the pond........ Joisey !!!!!! LOL

Thanks for the warm welcome! :D

im going to start seriously looking for a car in the spring. My objective is a 68-70 Charger, leaning more towards 68 or 69, but i may get something a little easier to come by in availability and/or price first (like a 71 sebring, or perhaps a duster or something else that may tickle my fancy)and eventually sell it to get more cash in hand to find a decent Charger. Im sure it will be a long road till i get to my goal, but im looking forward to starting the journey!

Thanksagain for the welcome everyone!

thanks everyone! Im happy to see a few of you are now local to me, or at least close by! After these renovations in my new place are done and i rejoin the workforce..im going to start seriously searching for a car!

Welcome. This is a good place. Good luck. Don't know your intentions, but I would buy a nice finished driving car. It seems to be a buyers market with lots of nice cars at a good price.

i actually couldnt afford a predone car most likely. Plus i really want something i can put my heart and soul into, and likely a lot of blood sweat and tears lol. Im a hands on type of guy that likes to do as much as i can myself, its very rewarding for me :) However, once im in a position to buy, i will not rule out a finished or mostly finished car completely.

Welcome from PA! I have 70 and 73 Road Runners (actually the 73 is now my son's). The 71-72 Road Runners/Satellites are super cool too, and I wouldn't mind having one of those at some point. I like your choice!

Good luck with your search. Whatever you buy, be sure it is COMPLETE. The small parts will kill you...

Welcome. Good luck with the search, maybe you'll find a charger in the spring.

welcome to FBBO & good luck with your quest
