I have a 72 roadrunner but the 400 engine and tranny is a married pair from a 72 fury. I recently upgraded the carb from a weak 2 barrel to an edelbrock four barrel and now I need fix the ratio problem with the kickback. I'm going with the Lokar setup, seems to be pretty nice. I need to know which I tranny have to get the right parts.

How do I tell the difference between a 727 and a 904? is there an easy way or is it just looking at the splines?

Thanks for any help

A 904 won't bolt up to a 400.Also,you may be better off with the linkage from Bouchillon than the Lokar !

The pan would be a easy way to tell.
