Help - Trunk Battery Cable Routing

Just a word of caution. I ran the cables for a rear
mounted winch under the carpet to the rear hitch.
After a couple years of people climbing in and
out (stepping on the cable) the insulation wore
thru. I had the wires switched at the firewall
so they weren't constantly hot. Went to use the
winch and burned a hole in the carpet. Saw the
smoke and was able to cut the power off with
the switch before my Jeep burned to the ground.
Not saying this will happen in your case, but it's
a possibility.

I’d recommend you leave the battery in the engine compartment.
Doesn’t look like a race car to me.

I ran mine through the interior. No back seat so I don't have the same people traffic problem as others. I suggest running a second ground cable from the battery to the mounting bolt on the starter. Sounds like a pain in the a$$, but it REALLY makes a difference!!!!

Do you have a rear firewall?
