72 Satellite Plus has not run in years. Trying to rotate engine to see if it will free up. But, cannot locate the crank bolt. Is it not accessible through the front pulley? It's a 3 groove pully on an AC car, but can't understand how to put a socket on the crank to try and turn engine... see pic.

Is there an inspection cover on the bellhousing? Lots more leverage there prying on the teeth.

Assuming you have already pulled out the spark plugs, get some lubricant in the cylinders, let things soak and put a belt on the pulley to see if it will spin. Do you have a good slip style belt wrench? Plumbing tools are handy sometimes.

Fully charged hi amp battery and a gear reduction starter may do it.
But when you say it hasn't run for years it depends more on how it was stored during that time. Fully assembled with the hood on ? No sweat. Hoof off, carb off ? Don't waste your time.

I've had so many hood aircleaner on lately, but mouse infested through the valves, it makes you sick lol. When they piss in the cylinders it just rots the metals together

I recently tore two 383's down that I had hopes of making run. They looked clean on the outside, air filters still on, etc. Found a large mouse nest down a cylinder on both engines. They had entered via exhaust pipe, and down by an open exhaust valve. Will require new pistons and boring the cylinder to get that mess cleaned up.

Well, obtained a crank bolt, but this thing is stuck! took a boroscope to the cylinders and man what a mess. Rust on cylinder walls and water in some. #2 had a big gaping hole in the cylinder wall. I think this thing had plenty of water in it and froze and cracked the block.

One MORE reason I hate those little SOB’s.
