Hesitation

Yes this filter is between the tank and pump and it is not even a factory one. It's a NAPA # 3040 filter with vapor return. I am not exactly sure what the stock one looks like or is suppose to be located but my Dad is getting a hold of Mancini this week for the stock replacement.

I will keep you guys updated.

I was advised to bring this post question up to the A-12 section. Is there any way the administrator can move this post to the A-12 section?

Hey everyone sorry for the long response but today we took the Superbee out and the hesitation is gone.
We first went about getting the correct vapor separator from Mancini and then the correct fuel filter in place. Then we ordered the correct power valve because with the Mr 6 pack cam his idle vacuum was around 19". His valve was 6.5 and now he has 9.5. Also we changed the float in the center carb because we noticed that even though we wiped it there would be a wet spot seeping on the surface of the float. After all these things were done the car went out this morning and my dad told me she's smooth again at cruise.
I set his timing at 14 degree base and all in around 3000 at 32 degrees. Should I try 16 or 18 base?

Try them both, can't hurt. Can I say happy?!

Haha sure.
I am just worried about detonation. My dad needs to drive this car. Poor guy has been watching it sit in the garage and now that the weather is nicer I want him to drive it.

i would first double check float levels and if they are good i would go to the four idle mixture screws (2 on each carb) on the outboards and ever so slightly turn maybe an 1/8 of a turn richer. doesn't take much to make a difference. see if this helps. as always make one change at a time and check results so you know what is helping or not. i would not worry about the 6.5 power valve. what is your timing set at? initial and total?

Timing is 14 degrees base and total by 3000 RPMs is 32 degrees. We do have adjustable mechanical so since the engine turns over and starts at 14 degree base I am thinking of increasing his mechanical another 4 degrees to get 36 total by 3000. Sound good? My dad drove it yesterday and really enjoyed his drive. Said he punched it on the freeway and likes the cam.

Based on your dads enjoyment it seems like good enough on the timing is just perfect. I would leave it as it is.

Wsutard I sense a slippery slope starting on this thread, lol.
