Holley Carb 2300 2BBL Fuel Bowl slowly draining internally!?

I read through this rather quickly, so, sorry if this has been discussed, but maybe you should put some fuel in a cup and set it on the workbench to see if it is evaporating? Our old cars fuel systems are vented to the atmosphere. I'm pretty sure the added heat from a recently shut off engine would expedite this. Just food for thought.

PS: a question for katmachine62, where did you get the bowl fuel fitting the fuel line connects to? jess in ky

In my case i would assume some of the fuel is evaporating, but it feels like i am losing fuel fast and when i pull the carb, my intake is wet and stinks of gas.

It would be interesting to have the carb on bench with gas for a week, that would give an idea of how much is evaporating.

Thanks for the input!

How u doin? Any news?

I Filed Down my carb since the edges where a little high.
I put it back on the 440 and it ran better then ever! I also got really god response on the idle mixture screws.

Then I let it sit for 4 days and it is stil losing fuel!
Took the carb off and the intake is wet, especially in the middle where center carb sits.

I then took the carb to the bench, filled it with gas and after 4 days there is no signs of leaks and fuel level is the same.

So i fixed something, but my big issue is remaining.

Hey!
I'm still at a loss as to why my fuel is "evaporating"/ disappearing so rapidly
It's rather frustrating that everyone is saying that's what fuel does these days, yet I never had that issue with the first carb I fitted; nor with the other cars I had Holleys on in the last 2 years
Your situation seems just as strange .... weird that the intake is wet, yet you can't get it to leak on the bench....
