Hoovie Buys an Alleged "Survivor" 1968 Charger R/T

That moron is fortunate he didn't tear up the rear quarter, total that Charger R/T or kill some one driving on those dry rotted tires. The Charger reminds me of the one RC used to own.

There's no way he didn't do that on purpose just to get the shot of the car with the tire blown off.

That is his "shtick" - "the dumbest channel on YouTube", as he says at the start of each episode.
Now, is he actually an idiot? Judging from the runaway success of his channel, he's both not an
idiot - and extremely fortunate as well.
He comes from some wealth (his father apparently is quite successful in the franchise food business)
and he acts like it when not in character, but he's also tried and failed to own his own car dealership, too.
Regardless, he's got all manner of deals with sponsors, his own TV show on MT and does Barrett-Jackson
hosting, too.
He's alluded to being able to buy any car up to around a $half million with cash - a sort of mini-Jay Leno
at this point.
VERY mini...

Hoovie had something with the Don Knotts routine and the everyman cars, but IMO YouTube will prove to be as fake as Twitter. Ethan Tuft's "Hello Road" channel is similar to Hoovie's Garage, except Ethan can work on his own cars; but IIRC Ethan didn't make much (or any?) money and is/was selling his cars. The "Worthless Whips" channel appears to be a failure, despite the fact that Serpentza was already a successful YouTuber with his main channel covering China (1.17 million followers for Serpentza vs 1.47 million for Hoovie's Garage). Serpentza can also fix his own cars.

Also:
Selling his apparently "all sorted out" superbird clone with a hemi in order to buy a hooptie 440 charger makes no sense.

Hoovie may have said otherwise in this video, but he sold the Superbird (original hemi car, not clone IIRC) to buy a Mercedes SLR McLaren. I sort of understand his decision - there's not much more he can do on the channel with the Superbird - but there's not much he can do with the SLR McLaren either.

I would never sell a superbird for virtually ANY mercedes.
It would have to be a very good mercedes before i would even consider trading a first gen intrepid for it.

Well i'm probably not the typical german. :D

If I were going to trade a Superbird for a Mercedes, it would be the SLR McLaren. I may have a thing for "beaky" cars -

I like the style on the front end of these also, along with the sound of the latest series of AMG V8 engines
in the GT-R series. Those sound magical, at least in videos on the 'Ring and such - but they look goofy in
comparison to the SLR.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of the round headlight era when Mercedes switched to it, but now it's my favorite era of Mercedes styling (but closely followed by the previous era). Supposedly the round headlight era Mercedes are not built well though. I could almost see tracking down an R230 SL, but I don't need the problems of a poorly built Mercedes.

Dear god not again !
after watching that fiasco with the bird, and watching Magnente Shilling for hoovie,i lost any and all respect for either one of them.
having said that,i do find their AutoTempest >> Road Trek episodes somewhat amusing.
its like a dumb and dumber version of Grand Tour.

Most likely Hoovie will do a couple videos of Car Wizard repairing the Charger and then it will sit in the background of his garage until he sells it. I don't think he likes classic cars as much as he lets on, or at least not as much as more modern European luxury and exotics.

He comes from money and is quite the car snob as a result, true - but everything he does is geared towards
YT counts, too.

If the front tire had blown it might be a different story altogether.
We'd get an idea of his driving skills.
I had a Firestone 500 "deathtire" blow out in Canada on the right rear wheel pulling a small boat with 4 people in the car at about 70mph.
It was VERY difficult to keep it within the 2 lanes, hair raising in fact I don't think my heartrate dropped for 20 minutes afterwards.

Wow, I bet!
I lost a "Gatorback" (Goodyears, remember those?) on my '89 5.0 once at something over 100mph.
Rear tire, which on a Mustang is no picnic - seemed like it took me a football fields' length to get that
damn thing back under me.

counter-steer * get back here, ya $%^$%^ * counter-steer somemore * you sumbeech, get back here!
:lol::lol:

IMO his YouTube strategy hasn't been that great since he started buying European exotics in good condition. One can only watch Car Wizard inspect the brake rotors and find they have "plenty of life in them" so many times.

I didn't watch his most recent Maybach video/s either, as I have no interest in ever owning that car.

You may not approve of what he's doing....but the numbers don't support your allegory of his "strategy" being faulty.

IMO YouTube is as fake as Twitter. Have you seen what's been happening on Twitter since Elon took over? Bots are being detected and deleted en masse, "popular" people with opinions who you are supposed to be influenced by suddenly don't have so many followers anymore. It was just bots, bots, and more bots.

So you think Elon is a good guy? I don't know much about him but the fact that he is the man behind tesla is enough for me to believe he's not a good guy.

Bad guy, but his deal with the devil stung him harder than he liked and he flipped. Messing with a man's kids is usually a bad idea.

thats actually a very good point
Youtube is full of ads now,and they are just as slanted as twitter and fb,with the political bias.
also noticing an enormous surge in spanish Speaking ads !!
like, they are catering to the illegals and not the americans?
even the so called Regular ad-s now, they portray americans as stupid and unable to accomplish the smallest tasks.
and the posters on these vids,a lot are spammers/trolls and deflectors.

as far as elon goes,if we actually get into space and settle other planets,it will be Because of elon.
considering how quick we are mucking up This planet,id say hes our only hope.
ps,the chinese Also plan on settling new planets...and they are going full Bore to achieve that.
meanwhile...back in america....we cant even elect a speaker of the house.

Good observations. Do you know why?

If Elon is/was one of the bad guys, I'd guess settling Mars wasn't actually the plan. You might ask yourself what could be done with the Starlink network if you wanted to depopulate the Earth. I don't know what technology is actually on those satellites, but I know it can get to everyone everywhere at the same time; and how would you stop it?

1. I never understand when people complain about ads on websites, when there's ad blockers freely
available to take care of that (I never see ads - anywhere).
2. Musk is a genuine genius, no matter his political bent - this has been demonstrated repeatedly
(personally, I like how he seemingly enjoys poking the "blue" side in the eye regularly).
3. Tyler Hoover is no fool - the fortune he has amassed from nothing at such a young age reflects that.
