I want to put some stereo equipment in the Trunk of my 1969 Superbee, but I'm worried that someone would be able to easily POP the lock, or force it to open by jamming a screwdriver in it and turning it really hard. Do you have any recommendations on how to secure the trunk so it's at least a challenge for someone to break in?

Tack some razor blades under the lip of the deck lid; be sure you remember they’re there though. Reminds me of a story I read years ago where a guy did this on his stereo unit in his car and resulted in serious injuries to the skank trying to lift it. Bloody mess.

Could install a car alarm system perhaps? Could check with outfits that install to see what they say..

Sounds like Peaky Blinders.

Google it.

I remember back in the day people would do this to their cars. Wow what a way to tell the crooks what you have in your ride. Maybe get a decal with an arrow pointing to the left and the decal say <-----LOOK HE HAS A KENWOOD..

My uncle lived in the Bronx NY had a length of chain and a lock in his trunk so you could open the trunk lid like 3 inches to unlock the pad lock

While less helpful than I was hoping for, your comments were FANTASTIC!
You guys are Great. -Cheers

Its just hard to say what you are or are not willing to do to your car. If people want to get into the trunk nothing will stop them from doing what they do best. Break into ****. They are trying to steal it they don't care how they get it or what they tear up in the process. Its not like they are going to gently remove an amp or speaker box out of your trunk they are going to rip it out of there as fast as possible. My neighbor told me he never locks his cars because he said he would rather them just open it up and find nothing than to break his window and still find nothing...

I had an 80 Honda Civic that was stolen twice. So I decided it was time for an alarm. So a guy breaks in with the alarm blaring and some guys run after him and caught him. The garage is the only safe place depending on where you live.
