I've been trying to find out what a 64' Polara weighs as mine is in the process of being built. Is yours full interior ,roll bar, aluminum heads, intake water pump, glass bumpers, hood, what rims, big block ,727,heat core still in?,inquiring minds want to know.Thanks64 polara b block with 727 3550lbs.
Thanks for that info ,if i'm near 3250 or so that's good news for me as i thought it may be heavier. Since it's a full interior ,steel body street car and not a full on race build, i doubt it will be shedding any more weight so it is what it is. It's nice to be able to tell whoever is going to build my converter e.c.t. what the cars weights with some level of accurate info. The best way, is to have it weighed. (Sorry about that, i willtry to be helpful).@Dan64
The best i can do is compare yours to mine.
I've got a 62 savoy. As i understand, a 64 polara will start out about 150lbs heavier than mine. Taking your list in order, i have an eight point bar,15x3 and 15x8 1/2 centerlines, copper 26"rad(+) 906 heads(+) alum.water pump and housing,no heater or wiper system,(?) whatever factory undercoat(not much) 440 with aluminum intake, single holley,727, 8 3/4(-) stock /6 front end , manual drum brakes, aluminum manual steering box. Fiberglass style buckets, carpet and doorpanels, battery in the trunk and a 8 gallon fuel cell.
You can compare yours to mine, plus a little here, minus a little there. I think your equipment might be 50-75 lighter than mine, so if yours started out 150 more you might be within 75 of mine. Mine was 3250 without me, last time i weighed it. My local dump will give me a certified weight for five bucks.
Did you ever get it weighed? You probably don't have any grain elevators around but many truck stops have scales.Been trying to find the weight of my 64 Sport Fury. Some sites say 3400-3500. That seems too light to me. Has anyone actually weighed their cars ? any real numbers? Race cars are no help. Thanks.
I will soon as it can . The car was bought as a roller (so no previous experience with this car or model) and is currently in a million pieces . I've finally settled in on a build style for this project and was questioning some of the weights that i found online. I've seen 3300-3800 quoted for a stock 64" Polara . Both ends of that scale seemed excessive . It's not a race car so i'll stay true to the style and the weight is what it is.Thanks for all the info.Accurate info is easy. Have it weighed. Cost me five bucks at my local dump. Worth every penny.
Doug,i just hope my car turns out half as nice as yours. It's rare to see a race car done to such a high level .My 64 Belvedere racecar is 3120 lbs w/o fuel or driver, 3350lbs race ready. That's after 1/8" Lexan windows, no regulators, doors gutted, no back seat, light front seats (Magnesium frames, aluminum mounts, 18lbseach), tube steering column shaft, carbon fiber bumper mounts, glass hood, aluminum 5 gal fuel cell and mounts, aluminum drive shaft, light brakes w/aluminum hubs and calipers, aluminum radiator, aluminum hood pins, aluminum heads, aluminum intake, aluminum water pump, aluminum motor plate, aluminum wheels, aluminum shocks, K-frame cut, tube strut rods. Stock gauge cluster, wiper assy, all heater box assy, carpet padding, hood hinges and latches, leaf springs, exhaust system, spare /jack are all removed. It does have a full cage +aprox 100lbs, mega block +50lbs, 2nd battery +45lbs, . Dana with spool is about equal to a 8 3/4 sure grip. Most of the gutted stuff doesn't show. But it shows you what it takes to get it light.

Not yet. I have 3 classic cars, and life to deal with. I also don't like thinking about taking my car around dump trucks, and all the road debris that falls out. I'm hoping to find anyone local with scales.Did you ever get it weighed? You probably don't have any grain elevators around but many truck stops have scales.
