SANDY has come and gone, leaving a swath of destruction behind.I'm on higher ground so the flood surge did me no harm, but a few miles away the the shoreline took a beating on the north and south shores
Since the storm,I have recovered over 30 cars from the south shore of Long Island{I own my tow truck}.Have picked up as far east as Amity Harbor and west into Coney Island and Brighton Beach in Brooklyn.Long beach and the Rockaways were devistated. Most of the boardwalks were washed inland,Breezy Pointe lost over 100 homes to fire. There are THOUSANDS of people that lost thier homes and contents. It's very depressing driving through these towns and seeing the contents of the house laying out front piled up along the curb, everything ruined by the flood waters.Hearing the stories of survival from the owners of the vehicles I'm picking up breaks my heart. There are still MILLIONS without electric.
I've been pulling cars out 2 at a time and leaving a trail of water that's draing out of the cars,it turns into a heavey mist over about 40 MPH.Like what you see in your mirrors when you drive in the rain.
You guys know I'm a picture taker,but for this,,,,,,I wouldn't take even one:icon_puke_l:
So how did you folks fare the storm??This is the worst storm to ever hit the northeast.
