I work in aerospace industry. Long and well paid career. Been on every other week (no pay) for two months now. And company went from 400 employees to 90 as of today. All airframe companies, suppliers Of and any company that provides any kind of commercial aircraft anything are in deep trouble right now. 95% of the worlds commercial aircraft are parked. It may take years for the industry to get even close to where it was in December

Might be over for me in the near future. I'll start looking around in a couple of weeks to see what's out there. With the unemployment so high owners can buy someone up for pennies on the dollar. But I'm afraid that as the doors open up everybody will go cheap just to get money flowing. But here's hoping not

I work for a company that provides television broadcast trucks for most of the sports and entertainment shows, with everything shut down our whole fleet of over hundred trucks with the exception of the ones doing wrestling have been sitting for the last month and a half. Our maintenance shops have been shutdown do to the quarantine with only a couple projects being done with a skeleton crew. Our whole industry has been affected, we are hoping to get back to work in June sometime as more sports figure away to continue their seasons. NASCAR is starting this weekend and golf has a couple events coming up but that's a drop in the bucket compared to what normally goes on for us.

With shows and races being postponed or canceled, I'm delighted to say it's starting to feel like winter around here. I've had a bunch of new arrivals over the last three weeks especially, with quite a few coming from FBBO members.

What I find most surprising is it seems locals -- who have never really been a source of business despite almost 14 years here -- are calling and actually retaining me now. I even did some airplane parts (!!!) for a four-seater this week and restored an old Scotty Cameron golf putter for another guy, my first ever.

Though traditionally busy enough to have something to do every day since 2009, warm weather has always signaled the slower time of the year while you all are out enjoying your rides rather than working on them. It's really weird to see the boxes piling up like they are during Booty Shorts Season.

I am especially grateful to have your support gentlemen! Thank you all for making me feel "essential" to your builds!!! < curtsey > You guys ROCK!

Being in the residential construction industry, my guys aren't around a lot of people, so installations will carry on as long as we can. Service has dried up as customers don't want us in their homes until this clears up. My job has me confined to the office 98% of the time & the only other workers there are my wife (once a week) and my lead man. I have very little interaction with "outsiders" coming in. We do have two eldery customers who want construction to halt until this clears up, but that doesn't affect us at all, but the GC they hired is frustrated that his guys can't work at those two homes. For the better part of this year, we'll be ok, but it's the long term effects on the economy that I worry about. If no new work comes in, we'll be screwed once the current work is completed.

Since I made the above post on March 21, things have changed. Our shutdown in MA was supposed to be lifted on May 1 but now who knows when it will end. Our spineless Governor, Charlie Baker (rhymes with faker), is following NY's lead, which means we don't know when we'll be opening up.

Anyway, around the middle of April, I saw that work was drying up, not for a lack of jobs, but construction sites have been either shut down or are running with reduced staff, which means that our schedule is in the dumper and we are at a standstill. I forsaw that coming and applied for the PPP and we just got our infusion this week. These funds are to cover payroll rent & utilities & they came through just in time because the last thing I wanted to do was to cut their hours or lay them off. There will be enough work to keep them going for a few half days during the next few weeks and I'll make some work for them to do around the office also.

Hopefully, this wretchedly run state of mine will get up and running soon.
