How much power do I have

PLEASE Don't take what I'm about to say as an insult,
it's not meant to be...

BUT;
There's a lot more to going fast & running 9's or 10's or 11's even
especially out of some mag. articles, we live in the real world...
Far more than just the heads & a thrown together combo,
mixed match parts, because some part didn't clear the hood
or the idle was too choppy, just throwing parts at it,
not intended to use with each other...
it's the car, driver, trans/clutch/converter, the suspension & travel,
gearing, rotating mass, over all weight & wear the weight is, the shocks, tires/traction,
even the tire pressure or style of tires & compounds etc.detailed carb & ignition tuning,
what fuel, what altitude & weather conditions, what track prep etc.
It's the whole kitten caboodle...

Just one part doesn't make that big of a change, unless it fits all the rest...

1hp per/ci is harder than you think, there's a lot of BS #'s out there too,
especially if the parts aren't right for the specific combo...

There's a ton of people "allegedly" making 500+ hp
that can't run 12's, let alone 13's
IMO it's either BS {wrong}
or "the car's" not set up right for the engine combo...
It could be in the low 11's all things considered,
right weight "all the factors mentioned above" etc., if it really made that power...

I'd suggest getting some books on the subject & study them thoroughly...
Even the old Chassis 9th edition book from MP, it spells it out, old school,
it may be old stuff but the formula still works...
It's been done before you don't need to re-event the wheel...

A lot more to making a drag combo work together, than just the engine or
some "what if" mag combos...

Plus parasitic(?) losses in trans&diff. Volumetric efficiency is only about 80% on a carbureted engine,I think.(at the best) And that's with a full-blown head job, not just a standard 3-angle valve job.

It's ok guys. It's not a drag car. Gonna be a street car only. My drag car is in my avatar. My buddies & I have been playing with MOPARS for 30 years. We ain't new at this. I've driven a 9 sec Cuda to a 16 sec street car. Damn thing sounds so good & those heads are Hugh. I'll be busy working on it this winter

Soooo, how much rain did you get down there? Had 2cousins in Savannah,Ga that got 17.5" Whew

Not too bad here. Maybe 3 inches. Eastern part of the state is under water. Have a lot of online & race track friends out that way.

That car should weigh roughly about 3750 lbs with driver give or take. It will nèed a minimum of 450 hp to take it 113 mph in the 1/4 at that weight. Spend $20 and take it out to the track once and see. Speculation is just a guess.

If it only makes 400 horse I'm going to pull the heads off & put them on my drag car. If nothing else for weight savings. And put a pair of iron heads back on it. The heads on my drag car have been worked. It might slow it down LoL.
