How to test a 3 speed wiper motor

Hey guys,
I bought a few 3 speed wiper motors at Carlisle and i'm wanting to test them out, The idea was he sold me 2 hoping i could build a working one. So i'm wondering how i can test them and what usually needs fixed on them? They have 4 wires I assumed - + and the other 2 were the speed. I'm just wondering if i rig up the - + to the battery what do i do with the other two wires?

Bench testing procedure.


Test #1(Hi speed)


Connect jumper wire from motor case to battery ground.
Connect second jumper wire from battery positive to BROWN lead.
Motor should run hi speed continuously.


Test #2 (Lo speed)


Connect jumper wire from motor case to battery ground.
Connect jumper wire from GREEN wire to battery ground.
Join BROWN and RED wires together and connect a jumper wire from battery positive to them.
Motor should run at slower speed.


Test #3 (Park)


Connect jumper wire from motor case to battery ground.
Connect jumper lead from GREEN to BROWN wire.
Connect jumper wire from red wire to ground.
Connect jumper wire from Blue wire to battery positive.
Motor should reverse and park.


(Depending on where the motor had stopped the park feature may have a full rotation or very short rotation

I found it somewhere on internet when I should try my own, thought it was good so I made a copy and sent to my hotmail, glad I can help people sometime and even more glad when I can be helped.

Turns out one i was able to plug into my existing harness, Didn't work so i guess i'm going to tear it apart and see whats going on inside...

Nick, the most common things "wrong" with them are that the sleeves on the wires from the winding have disintegrated and the bare wires will then touch each other or the gear housing and ground the motor out and/or it won't park any longer. That's the two things I see most often wrong with them
 
Using the steps above I have been able to get a working motor out of the 2 that I have the problem now is that the gear from that motor is broken. The gear in the other unit is different as is the unit itself. Any source for replacement output gears? See photos.

I know this is a old thread, but I recently 3D printed a plastic gear for a nerf gun out of some carbon fiber filament. It was very effective. I don't see why it wouldn't work in this application.
