Thanks. Unless I have an unexpected windfall, and get an aluminum, water jacketed 4 bolt block, which based on the pricing I can recall isn't that much more than the 4 bolt aftermarket block options available (please anyone correct me if I'm wrong) then this will definitely be the cap and girdle kit I get. I hope to hit 600 HP, and definitely 650 TQ, with the Torque being a must, HP is flexible. I would like to have the extra insurance for a 100 HP shot of nitrous oxide as an "oh ****" button...Figured I'd post these pictures together, makes it easier to see how it ties together when you can see both together.View attachment 812134 View attachment 812135
Sounds like we have similar goals, I'm planning on maxing out the stroke (4.5") on a 71 440 block I have sitting around for my Charger. Hoping for 600 ish numbers.Thanks. Then again, I may find my biggest challenge finding traction with what I already have, when that glorious time comes that I can post about the stroker motor I HAVE instead of WANT.
Thanks for the info!
I don't mind building motors for guys like Goon, I give him my opinion and let him make his own decision and he always picks the high road. In this case he started with Stealth heads that had a lot of valve guide wear after 3,000 miles and rockers that looked decent but showed some sketchy wear on the shafts, he chose exactly what I would have recommended. Here's some pictures of why Harland Sharps were chosen. Yes the rockers are stainless and look plenty beefy but the finish leaves a lot to be desired... all that rough finish equals stress risers. The shafts on the other hand had weird wear patterns, after measuring them it was obvious why, they weren't round! Chinese I assume since no brand is anywhere to be found.
Dev is making it happen and has some great ideas for the bracket adaptor.
Average Joe thanks for the wooden template it's definitely coming in handy for mock up

Goon, your engine is a work of art now, and it will be an impressive car to drive when finished. The Toy Chest is an awesome gift and a wonderful gesture from Dev. Congrats to you , and a big WTG to Dev.Not only did I bring home an engine this weekend and have a great time hanging out with Devin & family, I was also sent home with an incredible gift from Devin for my son.
Devin has crafted a few special toyboxes for family and friends and he made this one with my family Crest on it. The craftsmanship and more important the gesture leave me absolutely speechless.
This will be a family heirloom piece without a doubt

Really Nice Mike ! I like the brace that was machined to bolt to the cylinder head. Much better than what comes with the kit from The SuperchargerStore.
