Nice progress :wtg:, bet your pretty excited now having your motor up and running. As far as the mounts go it's all in the owner, do you want it nice and smooth or do you not mind some rumbling and vibrating? I have a shaker scoop to worry about hitting my hood and have decided to try the original mounts with a Schumaker torque strap, I want a nice quiet cabin for cruising. I think the Schumaker Poly Locs are pretty good too but also add a little vibration as well from what they say. Your motor looks great, well done
Anyonje have any feedback on the clutch issue mentioned above I'm stumped with that one...

I'm hoping the survivor route is the direction the buyer takes too but I'm not sure who got it or where the car went... Who knows maybe it will show up on this forum and we'll be able to follow it!
The only thing I knew about the transaction is the guy who bought the 70 Charger first got a steal of a deal and by the time the woman sold the GTX she had a better value of it's worth so it went for a more fair price.
Thanks for the info on what you used for mounts too USA.... You're not worried about the vibrations with a solid mount?
Do you have the spring from clutch fork to bell housing installed?
Hey GOON . . . Maybe you're just getting older and just can't handle it . . . OR . . . the car is anxious to GO, GO, GO ! ! ! ! ( take your pick ) ( SMILE )
my motor is the 6.1 fuel injected so there is no radical idle lope. plus i wont be driving it everyday so i hope its not real bad. i will let know when i get it running..
Thought I would share these pics with you guys.... When I dropped my car off at the shop last fall the owner said his buddy had just got ahold of a 70 Charger Barnfind and there was a 70 GTX next to it that he was going to look at... I guess the old man had passed and his wife was downsizing and unloading the cars... He picked up the GTX as a flip but decided to advertise it as a project and couldn't believe how much action the car got and sold immediately... here's what he brought home

Mike - thanks for posting this - my 70 Charger 500 came in the same colours, Y3 yellow with tan interior and a white roof. It still causes me to think about going Y3 with black interior and black roof with stripe.... This summer I'll have to decide but plum crazy is a strong contender.
your build is really coming along nicely. I would advise protecting the water pump finish if you are not going to paint it. I have the same unit and it now looks pretty crappy with lots of oxidization.
Thanks to Propwash AGAIN for recommending the Mity Mounts! Ordering mine today
That is one nice GTX he picked up and will make for another great project, Your short video makes a smile the way it sounds and it gos good with your L-plate, The angry bird sounds a bit angry man!!!
:icon_thumright: No sweat goon! It's holding up to the popcorn maker under my hood, so i'm guessing you'd be just fine. The standard rubber mount on the passenger side has had no issues either.
You bet! The rubber mount helps settle engine vibration to the chassis, but installing both will really ensure the monster won't come creeping out of the closet. :evil7:
"I agree Ron it will make someone a great project I'd love to follow that restoration for sure! I looked at it briefly when it was in the shop and the hamster wheel started turning with a few ideas about picking it up myself for a future project but I knew it would be a stretch to get the $$ together and then have to sit on it for a long time before it could be brought back as a survivor or a correct restoration."
That is usually the toughest part and especially when you really would like to have one, that's my wife's favorite one and the one she learned how to drive a 4-speed in, I myself love the looks of them! Hope it all works out with his resto...
Beautiful runner you have there!
