From what I've been learning being a member here apparently alot of guys over cam them, then they sound good but don't preform good. I have a 67 r/t very stock that i didn't over cam years ago and it ran very well 750 carter afb. I recently replaced the engle hughes cam from 1998 with a cam from mr 6 pack i just broke that cam in yesterday. So hot here in Cincinnati waiting for nicer day and take a drive and report back here on the performance. hopefully you can tune yours uo and get it performing the way you like.
I don’t know any of the build specs on this motor. It’s got a pretty mellow lope at idle, headers and big dual pipes out to flowmasters, sounds nice idling, a bit droning on the road... doesn’t sound like a very aggressive cam to me, but also my first 440, so I dunno. Haven’t tested vacuum at idle, but the booster works dandy. I don’t want to dig into the motor too deep just because it runs really well (if not a bit slow for my ego) starts easy, and keeps a great temp even idling through traffic on a hot Texas day. So I’ll just play with the ign/fuel and see what happens.
