So its one of those I just needed this stories. Picked up complete numbers matching 70 RR. Lots of extra parts. Project was started by previous owner. Engine bay blasted and painted. Fresh trans, engine unknown. Runs great smooth and not a tick out the old girl. I will pull the motor just because.

Needs quarter and truck. Floor needs final welding.
Now comes the how I ended up with a second 70 RR..

Front fenders of green are ok but need a bunch of work. So I Randomly look for front fenders once in a while.
Well this popped up and the next thing ya know I not only have super sweet fenders but a second car thats more or less all there.

I was going to just use what I needed for the green 70 but once I saw the fender tag and decoded it. I was starting get that I cant scrap this piece of history. Then checked the motor trans ect. All numbers matching. I thought well I just have to save this one too. This is the most rotten car I have ever owned. But I just couldn't let it rot away. :hello2:

So any B Body frame jig blue prints would be greatly appreciated.

I will share the story of picking up the car and parts. Amazing folks who sold me all these treasures. As a spoiler the gal who sold me this stated that back in the day she had to sell her hemi RR due to getting in too much trouble in it. :laughing6:

Why do I feel I need to save rusty B body muscle cars?

Nice score I think. If the green one has never been in an accident, build a frame jig off of it.

You know why ... ;)

nice '70s(especially the Green one!)

You are a good man saving both those RoadRunners :headbang::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:
Keep us updated with your progress...please

Great catches! 70 RRs are very special to me. Forgive me for telling the story again, I'll shorten it.. I had 3 of them. In June of 1970, my dad and I got the 1st one (used but like new for $1600), It had cheater slicks on it and I was 15. I found and drove the heck out of 2 more of them before I turned 25. Didn't touch or think of mopars/hotrods for 30+ years and now (at 59) I'm rebuilding a 68 Charger, go figure.
Restoring these cars is a disease for which there is no known cure., It can in some cases turn into complete insanity.
But MAN Ain't it fun?!

God Bless you man, thank you for saving another of our American Icons. Never before, never again can this kind of amazing stuff happen. It needs to be saved.

Funny, I found a 68 Charger RT and had to buy it as well. I somehow ended up with 3 cars.

I feel the same. Also making some great friends. The people I am meeting are awesome. Picked my Charger in VA and headed over the to the Nats with my son. Was so much fun. Talk about jumping in!

Was thinking the same. Orange one is going to be a major project. Thankfully metal work was something I did in a former life :)

Seems odd that it has 3 speed wipers but whatever but glad you are thinking about bringing it back and saving another

FYI Verdlaw is looking for a 68 Charger if you decide to let it go

Numbers matching coollll. :)

Why do I feel I need to save rusty B body muscle cars?

Because your a Mopar guy and the 70 is one of the sweetest from there stable! Im stuck on the 69's right now but man to grab a couple 70 RR's, that's a dream where im at.. I commend you and hope this plan works well with you! My wife's favorite car and im a bit timid to tell her, but that i will do.. I often wonder if one of these deals will ever pop up where were at lol... :)

congrats on your save this will be a build to watch ,keep posting some updates for us ! :headbang:

Thanks guys. I am looking forward to it.. Going to start on the green 70 1st. Orange one will more of a project I will post some pics of how bad that one is.Put it this way. Went to open the hood and the hinges pulled away of what was left of the hood LOL. still cant believe I found two numbers cars. Much less 70 RR's

Wow, nice 70's RR's, my favorite looker. I would love to have just one.

Keep up the good work!

70's mopars are a sweet year to own. Just out of curiousity, how close were your cars built together if they were both built in st. Louis?

"70's mopars are a sweet year to own" X2 Couldn't agree more!
