I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

This will be my "Road office" come this Saturday. My new "JOB" will be driving to and from!!!

I will post better pics when I can take my own but this is the unit I bought.

This thread is very fitting for tomorrow! I have the task of getting the place up and going in the morning... a job that will test my patience tomorrow lol. It's not uncommon to have to heat up some of the big bearings just for them to be able to move, last week it was so cold the Propylene wasn't even turning to gas.... liquid was coming out if the torch head! Fun, fun

My "job" today will be driving this home from here......Quartzite Az. A nice week in the desert!

Employer is offering me a Golden Parachute as of this writing. On the fence. Employer is great and job is rewarding. Think I will pass.

Just think of how much "Road Time" you would have.............Why the parachute?? Downsizing??? Be sure you don't somehow end up ******* yourself or, really, them ******* you.

Not to rain on your parade, they offered people in management GP's where I worked. If you didn't take it you were laid off. Hope that's not the way it works out on your job. They offered full medical benefits until you were 65 plus pension like you retired at 65, payments starting immediately.

How do you like the Sprinter motorhome?
Same question I’m thinking of. Personally, no love lost on Sprinters; course I’m a inches(no metric) type of guy. Maybe too new for you to have any stories?

Not only do I NOT want to go to work tomorrow...**** it, I am NOT going.
Today there was a shutdown of a major bridge in the California Bay Area. My 107 mile drive home took me 5 1/2 hours. It normally takes 2 1/2.
This commute sucks ***. I would NOT be doing this toward the beginning of a career. I am 13 months from reaching the 30 year mark so I am toughing it out to reach that goal.

Agree with Darius - you know your situation better than anyone - tread carefully so has not to take it up the rear a short time later. Life is short.......

It's not easy when you get to the point you're at, I get it!! I had 23.8333 years at Chrysler when they closed here in Fenton Mo. That's what they said!! They offered me jobs in 4 different states to finish my 30 year career goal. To many miles from home and to many homes to take care of. I was fortunate enough to have been a good stewart with my money and a good enough golden hand shake made my decision to go home and stay there a reality. The market and jobs in general have changed and not for the better in my opinion. Hang tough, for you it's just around the corner!!

Dennis, I always get scared when they are offering me something like that. I agree with GetX'd and Fran Blacker, watch for the trick bag. But in the end only you know your employer and he may just be great full for a job will done and sweet way out for you. PS. the last time I got something for free, I had to go to the Doctor to get rid of it...LOL

I love the thing!. That little V-6 turbo diesel kicks *** .It pushes that 11,000 lb rig around like it was 1/2 that weight! Just got back from that Az trip. 1400 miles total avg mpg was 15.7. Very comfortable ride and good handling for how top heavy it is. Shocks will be a close interval replace item I am sure.I have not had to do any servicing on it yet so we shall see about that. The ORF's on the RV sites all bitch about $100+ oil changes and outrageous service fees at the Mercedes dealer.I won't be paying that , just keep receipts for everything. I'll be seeing how much of that stuff impacts warranty or not as well. All in all, I am happy! The Motor home part is awesome too. Winnebago may cost a bit more but the quality is there. 37 years doing super custom high end BIG BUCK remodels leaves me with a pretty well trained eye. Winnebago beats everyone else hands down. The only other builders close were Tiffin and Liesure Vans out of Canada. I had not one single issue at delivery and every piece of equipment works perfectly...once I trained MY dumb *** how to use it all.

RC,
A friend of mine owns the Airstream Mercedes - Sprinter motorhome, He's 75 and he loves it!! Easy to drive, handles nice and the thing gets over 20 mpg!! His looks more like the cargo van they sell as far as roof and no pull outs. It's sweet, but not really cheap to buy.

Any beer ya gotta put a piece of lime in can't be worth drinking in the first place.
I'm not going to work at all next week. Supposed to get freezing rain/snow Mon morning. Think I will call the guys at work and axe how their commute was.
