I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

I’ve been off for weeks with a sciatica flare up. Got caught in the system with authorization for an epidural. Too long to explain, but the Holidays made this last much longer than it should. In the meantime, got an offer to retire early. I can’t wait to go back tomorrow. Linda is a tv nazi. I need the structure. My commute is about an 18 minute train ride after a 10 minute walk to the station. Mopars stay clean, dry, and safe under their covers on most work days. Don’t do 10k miles a year on ALL THREE cars, and 7k of that is touring in the 69. Add 4-10’s and...I have seen the other side. Varies by individual circumstance, but at 65 I’m not ready yet. It’s not about the $$$.
I hope your improving?
I feel your pain. Developed a back /leg pain issue over thanksgiving and was not able to walk. Missed 3 weeks of work and was miss diagnosed. Turned out to be bulged l5 disc. Had shot in back and been going to physical therapy. I'm 80% but don't know if I will ever get normal. Of course my deduct able restarted. I'm a facility maintenance guy and even routine work is harder. How I'm going to do any real restoration on the Charger or go duck hunting is another problem.
Staying home unable to work for 3 weeks was awful. The fun wore off after a day and a half.

My employer puts a roof over my head, and 3 Mopars in the stable. I’d give anything to get my sick sorry *** in there today to contribute.

STOP listening to those quack GP's and Physical Therapists and get your *** to a chiropractor!!! The drugs are not doing anything for you except masking the pain and ******* you up even worse Bro.

Referred to surgeon. L3 L4 have a burr. Dremel time.

Ouch !!!!

good luck with that

hope it's micro surgery, small incision etc.
& not some big surgery

get a second or 3rd opinion too
don't just go by the 1st dr.

there's "allegedly" more complications from back surgery
than almost any others
I know a few that have gone thru it, 1st hand

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I can somewhat relate...
I have a couple compressed discs, from years of abuse,
as a carpenter/construction in general
& mainly from a bad wreck I got in back in the 80's on 680 freeway,
in my 76 Power Wagon sandwiched between 2 carpet vans hauling ***
out by Lafayette/Walnut Creek curve...
I hit my head on the windshield, compressed my spine
(long story, I don't need to go into again)

I got several opinions, all differed some,
most recommended surgery too
before I found a good therapist
surgery wasn't actually needed, but was being almost forced on me
(It was Kaiser) glad I chose the non evasive solution now

physical therapy is/was the only thing that helped
it's all manageable today, rare it flares up,
it's right between my shoulder blades when it does

Made it really hard to go to work some days...
I think it was more, I had a bunch of new parts for the racecar,
I couldn't wait to install, more than the back/neck pain :poke:

Had my own shop for 35 years now, where else could I **** off and still make money (legally)? I am old enuff to retire... but really dont want to. I have a few annoying health issues (like my neuralgia post) but hell this old junk yard dog can still bite!

I want to travel the country and visit every drag race track. Make a pass and hustle races for pay. What could go wrong with that plan?

I enjoy the money, hate the customers anymore and the young thirty something kids who know notyhing and who i have to sell too. But work still sucks dont kid yourself.

Got a date yet? Will we have to postpone CTC? I am OK with that if it is what you need to do so you can really enjoy it when you go.

I have had a bulged disc for almost 20 years. It flares up sometimes and has me on the couch for 4-5 days waiting for it to subside. It gets REALLY boring when the weather is great and I am in too much pain to go outside to enjoy it.

To recap though....
I really hate this shitty commute. This ******* job just keeps on going though. It is like a rash that refuses to go away. Today was a 3 hour ride home even though I left at 2:00. I can't jump ship without feeling like I let the Foreman down and I will not do that.
Yesterday I worked a job near home and was in the driveway before 3:00 with plenty of energy to mow the lawn, cut up a fallen tree and fix a flat tire. Today I was tired, annoyed and frustrated. That sets the stage for NOTHING to get done after work.

I know how ruptured & fragmented discs feel also.
I've been laid up for months at a time 2x.
I hope you guys suffering from that get over it soon!
I do not want to go to work tomorrow so I'm not!
Didn't go today either & not going monday as well.
I'm TRYING to get to Redding...

That's one thing that I have always tried to take good care of, my back. My Dad injured his as a young man at the foundry when he instinctively tried to hang onto a falling rod of cold rolled brass. Tore his back up bad. He wore a brace for many years and I always felt bad for him because he was in pain. Always told my brothers and I to let it go instead of trying to catch something falling like that. The military was a good place to keep the back in shape due to the exercise regime daily. I feel for you guys with back pain. It affects everything else you do.

Man, that is October. CtC is ON.

wish I could go to work have been on a medical almost two years I hope for some surgery to start in 3 weeks

I have 1 yr. 8 mo 4 days till I'm retiring. But who's counting......

I'm sorry to all that deal with pains here or there or long commutes. Life's a bitch! Don't wish it away to soon, although it sucks, it also marks a space in time when you have more time behind you than you do in front of you, now that's not fair!!

have too much time behind me not sure how much is left in front me

Less than 9 months for me if I choose to jump ship at the 30 year mark.
Youngsters. What’s the hurry. Did some inquiring today. Numbers are great. Still not ready. Linda is afraid I’ll die on the table so wanted to review the POA and designated beneficiary. She dies I get the Charger, I die she gets $$$$.
