I wish this issue wasn't "impressive". But at least I can do the work myself and it's only the cost of the gear set.

Good catch once again, Doug. Man, that takes some serious steam to go through D60 gearsets at this rate.

The more I see the maintenance you go through, the more I appreciate an 11-second car.

I put a spool in Barney a few years back. There was a tight spot in the lash in a few spots. Two races later I peeled 3 teeth off the pinion.
Your thread here reveals to my why I had a tight spot now. Tight meaning less backlash.
Will monitor closer going forward now. Thanks for sharing.
