I hate dark tinted windows... Can't see anything in cars anymore...

The oddest justification for outlawing dark window tint IMO is reasons of "safety". But that goes against logic, in that that most accidents are caused by the gas pedal, brake pedal and/or the steering wheel, and they are 100% under the control of the driver, and they aren't outlawed. Window tint is under control also of the driver, so let the driver decide and suffer the consequences thereof.
Besides most LEO cars have dark window tint, and they aren't running over things as far as I can tell. What special abilities might they have across the board?

With the windshield upper stripe, are sun visors not exactly the same blockage?

I can swing the visor to the side window and cover both when needed. By law, the tint to the mirror is too low, but I've done it forever, no problems.

The only reason the law doesn't like tinted front glass is, they want to see you. That's the only reason. Anything else is just an excuse.

All of my junk is tinted.....south east Tx ya pretty much need it! Not sure about cars but with a truck, you don't even need a back window. It can be totally blocked with the darkest tint or even painted black. And the only thing I don't like about limo tint is it makes it harder to see while backing up, especially at night. Yeah, none of my stuff has backup cameras.

Visors leave a gap at the mirror, and at the outer edge. The tint strip is continuous, no bright sun "peeking" through the gap at inopportune times.
My point was sun visors can block vision far more than maybe any window tint and have been acceptable for decades without "safety" issues.
They also thwart to some extend facial recognition cameras at toll booths, etc just sayin.

but at night, dark tint makes it harder to see, especially if it's near dusk and the approaching vehicle doesn't have lights on. and backing up? at night ya almost are doing it blind if your windows are mega-dark tint.. i'm fully on board with "let the driver suffer consequences" for lots of stuff (like driving like a bonehead), but the argument starts to lose validity when it can endanger others. Love tint on windows, but too dark on front door windows, and tinting windshield? not ideal but that's just my opinion :)
